One of the dangers is #eBikes is that I feel compelled to branch out in both directions
"A regular bike would also be fun, sometimes, I bet"
"If I had a small electric motorcycle, we wouldn't need a third car..."

I'm mildly apprehensive about the job only because his girlfriend and most of her family work there and if something goes south/weird with the relationship, it's going to make work super awkward.
OTOH, it's not like I'm charging him rent, so if the job doesn't pan out after a while, he's learned something and gotten some experience. It's not a crisis, just an annoyance.
So older son got the job he applied for (his first!) and he is going in today to do paperwork and work a half day (starting for real on Monday)
but this means he and my wife were both ADHDing in the kitchen at THE SAME TIME, getting ready for work.
If this happens every morning, it's going to be my new favorite sitcom. I just need to refill my coffee before it gets going.
For now, I am just enjoying the post-departure peace.
that thing where you have trouble deciding what to do and you end up not having done anything useful at all
One of my favorite collaborators is a perfectly cromulent bass player in his own right. He definitely does not need me.
I have to remind myself that it's not that I'm a *better* bass player
but rather a *different* bass player
I take things in different directions from what he would do on his own. And it is fun. I'm grateful for the opportunity to put my spin on his stuff.
Anyway, @mykie and I are working on #FallLineDrive stuff again.
I don't want to build a fully-engineered permanent installation, but was thinking of it more like a chicken tractor or mobile irrigation system: something modular that I can move around the garden as needed to provide additional shade/cooling/solar collection. And take in when we are going to have inclement weather.
I have been looking for more information on small-scale #agrivoltaics, i.e. backyard #garden #solar. So far, most of what I have found is about bigger installations; no one has written up much about implementation for home gardens. What I have found on YouTube is... not exactly well-thought out.
I got out of the #library fundraiser book sale only $36 lighter
(DVDs/BluRays and hardcovers are $2; paperbacks are $1, CDs are $0.50.)
Of course, it's only the first day. They're running it for the next two weeks, and bringing out more stock daily.
I am going to need to build more shelves.
"That was a terrible movie in the best possible way. "

After 4 months of planning to do it, I actually just went to Home Depot and bought the stuff and installed some bracket and rail shelves in my older son's room so he has room for more of his books. It was... not cheap. But pretty sturdy and easy, and I didn't have to buy any new tools.
I'm trying to think about what would be most terrifying to my #Tennessee neighbors
a gas pump with $12 diesel?
a gay reaper with a fabulous cloak of many colors? (is this a thing yet?)
a library full of banned books?
If you can extract value from "AI"
you should be legally and financially liable for its actions
I do not understand why this is not the default way we think of such tools.
Fun fact: this actually started as a grim predictor post, but I decided to make it past tense and then create an ending that didn't make me depressed

actually, in fairness, it's a MESH community--meshcore is just the latest thing they have switched to using primarily, about the time that I started.
I am more interested in other mesh technologies that could be supplemented by MeshCore, e.g. mesh WiFi or the like.
It will never cease to mildly depress me that the local #MeshCore community interacts FAR more on Discord than on MeshCore.
I mean, yay for the #NashvilleSymphony, but ugh, Oracle?
