Most expensive city in the world by many measures, worse than developing world utilities
As with anything that is ‘wrong’ about this place, it’s that way because someone is making a shit ton of money, not because we don’t know how to do it differently
Vast majority of new private vehicles in Kathmandu are Chinese EVs. Apparently the tax situation is much better than a gas car (as an incentive), charging is plentiful and they get cheap hydro electricity
This is a review for a Rubik's cube.

An architectural study of Taipei
Also kind of wild to do this in a majority Buddhist town that’s not vegetarian
(In that I think crunchy western spiritual people practicing a specific form of Buddhism have quite different beliefs and practices from people who grew up culturally Buddhist, and sometimes there are clashes of culture and beliefs when they come to places like Thailand and Nepal expecting it to be just like their imagined exotic land)
I’m in Pokhara, Nepal, a very popular place for starting a Himalayan trek or climb, and also popular for yoga and retreats for the crunchier types.
Someone’s (obviously a tourist) graffiti-ed vegan messages all across town; and the messages get increasingly conspiracy theorist.
Other than the message, which I largely agree with (we should eat less meat, but not the conspiracy theory stuff), what makes people think they should go to other countries and graffiti their messages all over?
If anyone from the developing world did that in your countries, we’d be arrested immediately.
I also really dislike marshmallows
After those experiences I formed a group chat with folks I know who like outdoorsy things in California.. and who like similar food as me. We plan to do things together and take turns prepping food.
However the group has also evolved into an ‘eating for fun’ group and we regularly do things like ‘let’s go to six taco trucks in Oakland at the same time!’
The few times I went to do anything intensely outdoorsy in California, I didn’t really enjoy the communal food choices of my fellow hikers (sorry but I don’t like trail mix or oats or bland food, even when hiking)
I had to bring my emergency spicy tofu snacks and spicy noodles (spicy food has no bearing on my err, ablutions)
After being in Nepal for a couple of days and hearing western trekkers complain about eating only rice and lentils for days
Maybe I should do outdoorsy things here!

Hi! I'd love to connect with others writing non-romance-focused, long-form original sapphic fiction in English or Spanish. I'm working on editing, and it would be lovely to have folks to check in with. I don't have a writing group & work/life have been busy, so it's been hard to keep myself accountable! I'm in Pacific time (US), writing in English, and hoping to translate the final version into Spanish. Not sure what the genre is - kinda like The Monkey Wrench Gang. #writing #amWriting #askFedi
It’s my birthday week and all, which is lovely, but I recently sneezed while I was asleep and pulled a muscle
Posts like these ‘what’s the nastiest thing you’ve eaten’ always talk about the most basic ass basic food (durian, pork intestines, natto, century egg)
I find a lot of white bread American food repulsive but you don’t find me posting shit like this
Proud of my local dyke bar for taking a stand against transphobia
Edit. The additional context needed is Rikki’s is one of the home ground bars for watching and gathering with other dykes who are fans of the golden state Valkyries. There’s a wider struggle against transphobia in the WNBA, but Valkyries fandom would not exist without our many trans fans.
