All self-navigating cars in San Francisco have managed to achieve is: significantly increased traffic (documented), significant delay to emergency responses (documented), significant risk to the population during natural disasters (documented), preventing the overton window from moving away from cars as a primary means of transportation, and consuming all the air in the room when discussing future city transit.
Someone is gonna die on 16th Street between Harrison and Bryant, it's just a matter of time. That hill - 3 blocks counting Alabama and Florida in between - is a total death trap. I take my life into my hands biking/walking across it on the way to the SPCA and Potrero Center Petco.
