old blog posts that overuse bulleted lists sure hit differently now

sites i run that have never had anything like wordpress on them are getting spammed with wordpress php exploits

i don't want an operating system designed by a hacker, i want one designed by at least 6 mathematicians who do not like each other very much

is there any ethical reason to want hundreds of terabytes in one memory device? what portion of the market makes up that use?

i want to not feel absolutely broken and alien for refusing the inevitability of the worst future

i feel so gross, turned down what could have been a great job if not for the "ai" bubble

harsh... why did i hide the swoopy traces behind this commit

Remove files from fc64x8 revision A which aren't relevant any more

it's funny when people mention that the adafruit rev of the board was bigger than necessary and used usb-mini, because my original rev (pictured) was usb-micro and a smaller area. adafruit wanted it larger, and at the time they'd standardized on usb mini.

rad, i do actually like to see folks make their own fadecandy boards. that part of the project was never what annoyed me, it was the commercialism and the pipeline into big tech. https://shentian.me/2023/12/28/build-fadecandy-2023-pt1.html

there's a gig here i would have loved 20 years ago but now i just cannot bear to willingly be a cog in big tech if there is any alternative at all

maybe i'm actually fully out of hirability in tech

grafana has three different loading animations before my graphs appear
- one bouncing grafana logo for the whole web app
- spinning "Loading" for the dashboard
- animated horizontal bar on each graph as it fetches data
i'm not mad that we have this measure of visibility into loading, it's just funny it takes the form of several different wizard-of-oz curtains

that's the shit. https://picogui.scanlime.org/Screenshots/20020524_pgmerlin/photo_view.html

we already had a way for anyone to make software even if they despise organized thinking, it was called visual basic,

100 megabit per second floppy disk launcher

ew, some ai bot on my site has the useragent 'rawdog'

being "up to date on technology" is a scam

these days i wouldn't mind letting the browser download compressed chunks of time series data and do the rendering client side

maybe i will try making a modern website, and generate html from zsh instead of sh

oh your program is "zero dependency", let's see you run it [reads you the binary]
