i feel like this headline needs a comma.
i initially read it as a refreshing ‘change of heart’ story, where the landlord had finally quit blaming his woes on everything else and accepted it's his shitty pub

reading the rerelease of Cyberselfish by Paulina Borsook - half remember the original article and stir it caused, but had never read the book.
it felt so extreme and far fetched at the time.
reading the book now and its so on the money - it’s pure Cassandra. 25years in the making.
it’s has a fabulously snarky tone.

finished #endTimesFascism by Naomi Klein and Astra Taylor.
great framing of what and who are stealing our future. hard read as the scale of it feels overwhelming (in a similar way to Nerd Reich). But also a fantastic call to action in a realistic and tangible way, not just hopeful, but a plan and a strategy for how we can fight back against these anti humanity ghouls and their accelerationist exit machines.
the approach echos George Monbiot’s Out of the Wreckage

our local restaurant closed down suddenly a few months back (legal/rent woes). been sitting empty but full of equipment and stacked chairs etc.
well someone decided to set up the bar like some sort of supernatural lock in, plenty of monsters and even (not clear in pic) santa and the easter bunny.
guess it’s got new owners #october
