Woohoo, my first couple #openstreetMap edits made it onto CoMaps! 🥳

Can't recommend enough, if you're into taking pictures of things, to print them off and give them to people. Seriously, it's awesome.

If you send somebody a jpeg, you'll get a thumbs up react.

If you hand them a physical photo they can hold and touch you actually get a real reaction, a real smile, and something they can put in an album or stick to their fridge.

It's the most special with film prints, but any old jpeg will do. People love physical media, it's that simple!

Well, I guess this week’s annoying but necessary job is to export my hundreds and hundreds of saved places in google maps and set them all up in Organic Maps. Google has made it abundantly clear they’re closely aligned with the trump regime. It’s going to be painful to not have accurate traffic and road closure data anymore, but not as painful as having my country undermined by corrupt fascists.

If these guys want access to our country’s data they should play by our rules and respect our sovereignty. No more renaming lakes, no more screwing us over, no more capitulating. Oh, and bring back the Digital Services Tax.

If you're seeing "API KEY REQUIRED" all over your lovely grafana map panels, you're not alone... It looks like "carto" the built-in tile provider service is throwing a shitfit and requesting API keys for everybody with no warning. It's not the same as OSM asking for referral based attribution, since they're asking for quite a bit more information to sign up. Not cool, man!
