I had a bad experience with a brand-new HP printer (I didn't order it, I just helped set it up).
Anyway, I kept getting the error: "This printer is registered to another account" when trying to set up the software, which was linked to a subscription service (don't get me started). When we called tech support, they informed us that the printer was registered to a completely different person due to a snafu on their back-end, and we would receive a free FedEx return label within the next few days to just send it back.
I've long since moved away from HP for reasons and have used Brother instead, except for a trusty old 4100 that keeps on ticking.
Silver lining, HP may have just done what I have not been able to do for 20 years: convince my wife that HP sucks.
