you thought 67 was bad, but even that couldn't prepare you for 4

my little uxn project has taken shape! here's a little recording of what it looks like currently

@neauoire confused about how uxnfor handles block widths. I thought the following would be fine, but it formats it to have (what I would consider to be) eight blocks per line:

@grid [4
    0101 0101 0101 01ff
    0101 0101 0101 01ff
    0101 0101 0101 01ff
    0000 0000 0000 00ff
    0101 0101 0101 01ff
    0101 0101 0101 01ff
    0101 0101 0101 01ff
    0000 0000 0000 00ff
    0101 0101 0101 01ff
    0101 0101 0101 01ff
    0101 0101 0101 01ff
    0000 0000 0000 00ff
    0101 0101 0101 0101
    0101 0101 0101 0101
    0101 0101 0101 0101
    0000 0000 0000 0000 ]

spent so much time this morning deeply confused until I discovered that writing a label in uxn without a rune has an implicit JSI instruction :blobcat_melttears:

I hate autoplay. I do not want autoplay. play the songs/videos I told you to play and no others. If you're not capable of this then you are a trash piece of software.

@neauoire looking at uxnfor: should this call <emit-break> instead?

&break-after ( addr* -- addr* )
<emit-space> !eval-scope/continue

(context: uxnfor was giving me strange behaviour where sometimes the line breaks after @| style comments would disappear, in a way that was deterministic but seemingly dependent in some arcane way on the rest of the file prior)

here's my solution to the daylight savings issue: make dawn 6AM and dusk 6PM, smoothly adjusting the length of a minute throughout the course of the day to accommodate

i hate computers

I've added a glossary that should help folks with the translation: https://codeberg.org/jan_Mija/ometp/wiki/Glossary

finally done :blobcat_dead:

here's my promise to the fediverse: if you post a cute picture of an animal while my wife is around, I will emulate the pose & expression of the critter for her entertainment

okay @dgar if you're gonna boost this post i feel like your followers ought to know: in the months since i wrote this she has become a CUDDLE MONSTER. she wakes me up every morning by sitting on top of me, purring loudly, and demanding attention. whenever i nap she does her best to curl up into me. she loves getting pets and scritches - if you stop, she baps your hand to ask you to pet her more!

look i appreciate i talk about my cat a lot but like... the progress she's made in the past year is incredible. she's a previously feral cat who spent eight months with her foster mum and in that time would not let humans get close to her and hid all day, only emerging when her mum was asleep. the only pictures of her that existed were the ones from her small stint in the shelter, where she looked unbelievably depressed. (there's a reason nobody adopted her in those eight months.)

when we got her i didn't see her for weeks: she found a tiny crevice in the spare room to hide in and we just put food and toys out for her and left her alone. sometimes if we were lucky at night we could hear her playing with her toys.

and now here she is, napping on my bed within arm's reach because she trusts me and wants to spend time with me

i am filled with maternal pride. i love her so much.
