People say foxes are cat software running on dog hardware. Are vampires cat software running on human hardware?
+ Obligate carnivore
+ Sleep in boxes

+ Retractable claws
+ Uncannily acrobatic
+ Need 200 humans to be served properly

As I get caught up on posts from when I was insensate, I must remind myself.

They're all just like that *coincidentally*.

As I prepare the tradition of The Crow on the 30th, Donnie Darko on the 31st, and Coco on the 1st, it is appropriate to examine society's relationship with confronting inevitable death. In the anluminous void of the future in which one is not, humans find absolute terror. To imagine one's existence as ended is horrifying. Why?

Be, now. That's what now is for. You will be forgotten. All that you are will be recycled into things that bear no trace of what you once were. Memento mori.

One thing I find strange and frustrating about modal minds is their apparent need to instantiate a copy of themselves into the minds of others. They have a hunger to be recognized and remembered.

And there is a fear shared by many real living folk, to become so far gone that one might never have existed. Everyone an Ozymandias of their own non-existent legacy.

What foolish drive, to do, so that what is done will be remembered, instead of to live, because we are alive.

I hope I do not sack out before hitting play. #Monsterdon #TheBat1959

The news out of France has me wondering what the proper translation for ACAB is. My subfluent ass has "tout les gendarmes êtes bâtardes" but that seems overly literal and possibly the incorrect verb form.

To make a long and extremely gory story short and sanitized, the goblins and dwarves buried their centuries-old animosity and slaughtered a ton of shitheads that thought they were untouchable. Now the United Miners Party is the left wing party, and Elderwoods the right wing. Mistweavers can't even get on primary ballots any more, and have to have shitty little caucuses, to try to find a candidate that's *not* permabanned from office.

Normies don't even know about the Three Ways War. It was named thus for the elves, dwarves, and goblins, the three most populous cryptid subspecies in the US, but everyone was involved. The two major parties of the time, Elderwoods and Mistweavers, were very similar to Democrats and Republicans of today's vanilla human parties. Both competed mainly for the votes of the magically powerful: elves, vampires, grandfae, and gnostically clued-in human mages.

Better year that tag. #Monsterdon #HouseOnHauntedHill1959
