If I recall correctly, the German nazis threatened to invade Czechoslovakia in 1938. A conference was held, in which it was agreed that the nazis were to gain a military foothold across the fortified Czechoslovakian border, in return for the promise to hold off further advances. A jubilant Chamberlain returned from Munich, believing to have established peace. History knows this as the Munich Betrayal.

A conference was held, in which the nazis were to gain a military foothold on Greenland’s soil, across its natural defences, in return for the promise to hold off further advances. Frederiksen and Nielsen returned jubilantly from New York, believing to have established peace. History has to name this, still.

We were taught: ‘40-‘45. But #OTD in ‘39 they invaded Poland. Some say: ‘39, then.

But in ‘38 they already annexed Austria. And Czechoslovakia. ‘38, then.

But in ‘36 they already took and militarised the Rhine’s west bank. ‘36 then.

Pearls are clutched, in fear of WW3, with a big bang presumedly starting it off.
