Big news in my little world: next month I’ll become the owner of the bookshop where I work. It’ll be amazing; for now, though, I’m digging into the nuts and bolts of starting a business, because other than the inventory and bookshelves, I’ll basically be starting from scratch.
The biggest decision to make now is what POS system to use, because we’ll do final inventory under the current ownership November 2 to 4 and I’d like to list the inventory in the new system as part of that process. Bookmanager’s waiting list is closed for a year, whereas I’ll be looking for a system to be up and running by the end of this month. Any advice on that? We’re on Shopify now, but I think it might be more than I’m looking for, going forward. The shop is teeny-tiny, and I’m into simplicity (including zero AI) but would like to accept all modes of payment. I’ve heard suggestions for Square, with which my experiences have been mixed in the past, and Basil Lite, which I’d never heard of. . . .

Ahh Desk to Home today: 2:40h.
But! I didn't have to run through the main railway station and found a route from the sub to the train which is a tick shorter. This might be good next time when I'm late.
Things that work on entertainment networks: rage bait, nudes, provocation
Things that work on the Fediverse: a snap of my wife's crochet project
Yeah, it seems to be that easy... 😉

This is from #vienna / #wien, where we spent a couple of really good days! You really see the history in so many places.

Quick afterwork cycling to the south.
It's the time of the year for lights and warmer socks already. I returned at about 7°C... It's getting chill...
But good to get some activity after an office day!
