Do you have a mug that is specifially yours?

I'm really in to aternative tech, from what OS I use to what appliances I seek. I mean, look at my feed, I'm excited over a NOS toaster from the 70s and having a blast with a fucking Sony Mavica and floppy disks. I'm unlikely to be impressed by your brand new, mainstream, spyware phone. Money and status symbols don't impress me. I'm not going to find what you do for a living interesting unless it's something actually beneficial to society like artist, or researcher, etc.

Anyone in Portland Oregon want to get to know each other? I have pretty much one face to face friend, and that's a bit much to put on one person. I need to spread that out, broaden my social circle.

Fuck yeah! My toaster shipped! I'm going to have toast soon!

Reminder:
Trump cultists have reached a point where they ask 'Why is it wrong to rape children?'. That is who idolizes Trump. Those are his people.

They are not 'America first', no matter who you are!
NEVER FORGET!

20 days until the midterm elections.

Fun fact - some non-camera devices have interesting make and model info in their screenshots. I don't remember what game it was, but it's in-game camera, if you exported the pictures, inclued the name of the in-game camera (the cannon device the character was using) and the settings as if it was a real camera. It was a fun find and I wish I could remember what game it was.

It may still have time and date, camera make and model, and often, even what settings you used for things like focus, apeture, and flash. But it won't have your location unless your camera is specifically one that supports that (you'd know. Stand alone cameras with GPS are not common, and are often an add-on accessory).
If you WANT your copy to have location, you can always add that to the xif yourself later.

Phone cameras are conveninent AF. But... they also shed all sorts of data about you and everyone in the photo. A phone photo's xif often has the make and model of the camera, exact time, GPS location, and much more. Consider a stand alone digital camera. Then you don't have to strip the GPS before sharing. If the camera supports "mass storage" mode, you can just plug it straight in to your photo to share photos.

THIS WORKED! HAHAHAHA! The folder showed sub folders from other storage, but it IS in fact reading SuperMarioBros.nes from floppy, and the disk drive makes noises when it loads stuff. HA! This is the most absurd thing ever!

Ok, I feel stupid, but I switched to #Linux after I no longer had a floppy drive.
How TF do I format a floppy disk in Linux? I need it to work with devices that expect the same standard floppy disk formats used in DOS and Windows. If I remember right, that's FAT12? I don't particularly care if someone gives instructions in GUI or terminal. I've already found out it's /dev/sda... which is not what I was expecting.

Wait wait wait... I have a USB floppy drive. I have a USB A to USB C adapter. My emulator handheld has a USB C port. Super Mario Bros is less than 1.44MB.
I MUST TRY THIS ABSURDITY!!! *The nerdiest grin*

Remember when the web didn't need a "Reading Mode" because all the web sites were buit to be read? *nostalgic sigh*

So many YouTube videos drone on and on for minute telling us what we WILL be looking at.
"Today, we're going to look at the world of x. X may not look the way you intended, and we're going to look at that. We'll explore several ways x doesn't appear the way you expect it to. X presents itself in several different ways, and we're going to explore that."

Monty Python crowd: "GET ON WITH IT!!!!"

I am so fucking tired of people claiming they got rejected over "political views".
Um... supporting the eradication of trans people and the ICE Gastapo is not a "political difference". You were rejected over MORAL differences! IDGAF if someone disagrees with me on taxes, or whether or not we need a new road. But voting to abuse and/or kill my friends and neighbors is a hard line. That's not politics! That's morals!

I am so fucking tired of #ADHD. I took a battery from one camera to see if it was cross compatible with my other camera. It wasn't. So I immediately went to put it back with it's correct camera... and it's gone some how. I've torn apart my surroundings and have not found it. I hate this. I hate this so fucking much, I haven't gone anywhere. I didn't eject the battery and chuck it across the room at random. So how the actual fuck is it gone?!?!

Does anyone have experience with #GPS navigation on desktop #Linux? I got a cheapy GPS dongle to confirm I could make it work, and that's confirmed. But, it indeed performs like a dirt cheap GPS dongle, to the point it's almost useless. I need suggestions for a USB GPS reciever that works in desktop Linux. I woud strongly prefer one that can just stay in my car, and I'm not overly worried about routing wires if need be. Just... don't break the bank too badly, lol.

Some day in the near future, I need to digitize the big pile of game manuals I have before they fall apart. I want to destaple them to get nice flat scans, get them up on Archive, and then get them to someone who can appreciate the originals. I'll wait to resaple them till I figure out where they're going in case the next owner perfers to handle restapling. I have a ton of them, and too many game manual scans are terrible.

The mid terms are in just over a month. I suspect it'll be a stressful and/or anxious time for many of you who follow me, particularly the day of and when results are announced. If you'd be interested in having online company during that time, let me know below.
I might throw together an IRC channel for the day. (If you don't know how to IRC, say so. I'll be happy to help you get connected. I just need to figure out what server I can throw a channel on)
