Because the Drupal critical updates coincided with a breaking change in Ansible's MySQL support, we're rebuilding all the web servers. 🙄

TL;DR turn off field_ui. If you can't, maybe update asap.

Cheap Chinese and #opensource #LLMs could trigger trillion-dollar AI infrastructure 'reset' - https://www.theregister.com/paas-and-iaas/2026/10/13/cheap-chinese-and-open-source-llms-could-trigger-trillion-dollar-ai-infrastructure-reset/5302774 " Jefferies wonders if LLMs will ever be profitable during the 'ongoing collapse in token pricing' " #ai

Attached a waterproof push-switch to a dry contact on the electric gate motherboard this evening (in the dark!) ... much handier, you can push to exit now without hunting about for a remote. And I've sited it so you can use it to get in too, if you know where it is. (I didn't fit this for security, just convenience.)

The new electric 2CV from Citroën looks pretty funky. But it's Stellantis. Let's see what abomination of a platform they plonk it on before we get too excited. With a bit of luck they'll borrow something good from Leapmotor. If they get it right it'll be amazing. If they get it wrong, it'll be like the Fiat 500e (which, btw, is dreadful imho). #EV

It's a great time to be alive.

Walking around a vineyard with @greg_harvey and looking at the different ways you can train vines, and why winemakers choose them. Shout out to Domaine du Petit Oratoire in Valliguières whose vinyard he's walking around! #wine #organic #wineclub #nature #natural

I just realised today I've worked for myself for 19 years out of a 27 year career. 🤯

What language do you speak best? (Hypothesis: There are many French & German speakers in the Fediverse.)

:fediverse: Boosts appreciated!

It's the #! code monthly meetup tomorrow night (7pm, 13th Oct, 2026).

This is a general web developer meetup where we discuss all things related to the web development industry (and beyond!).

There is no set session for this month.

If you have an idea for a session or a talk you want to give then please get in touch. It doesn't need to be long, you can spend just 10 minutes talking about some code you wrote or your latest project success.

@jpoesen Hey! 👋 Do I remember you recommending a mail sending solution that isn't run by assholes not so long ago? I can't find it... 😊

Is it me, or is this guy in this installation video wiring neutral to line and line to neutral? 🤔 // @galooph

I bought this Swiss chronograph on eBay about 20 years ago. The crystal was cracked and it was a bit dirty, but it just worked so I wore it a lot. Earlier this year the crown fell out, so I finally sent it for repair, service and new crystal. I'm super pleased, it's come out really nice and the watchmaker says it's in really good general condition and worth about double what the renovation cost, so definitely worth looking after. 😎 // @mikebell

A very autumnal looking Coire na Ba.

This is what knowing your physics well means

Moved my music streaming *again*, this time from Tidal to Deezer. (My wife was losing it with Tidal, seems the iOS app is pretty terrible. Persuaded her not to go back to Spotify - we all go together, because family plan.) It seems good so far, buffering is definitely better than Tidal, which was one beef my wife had that I can agree with. Otherwise, honestly, Tidal was fine on my Android phone - just the buffering thing was a bit annoying, since we live in a village with patchy 5G coverage.

Lets Encrypt goes to 64 days of certificate validity in February 2027. And to 45 days in 2028.

This change to 64 will go live on their test servers (staging) next week.
