Get fucked for $15-30 an hour.

I was finally able to get in without the verification code by simply typing in my reservation number, and cancelled it.

Oh, FFS, I need to login to Amtrak and cancel my trip, but their 2FA system isn't working. I tried on both my iPhone and Linux, with both telephone and email, and no code is arriving.

Johnny: Four weeks, twenty papers, that's two dollars. Plus tip.
Lane Myer: Gee Johnny, I don't have a dime.
Johnny: Didn't ask for a dime. Two dollars.
Lane Myer: Well... it's funny see... my mom, had to leave early to take my brother to school and my dad to work cuz...
Johnny: ...two dollars... cash.

more isopropanol for the keyboard, though I suspect it really needs more water.

Proton VPN still works on the router.

After rebooting the router, it works again.

But now my keyboard is sticky again.

My router, which was working just fine in the wee hours of the morning, has decided it will no longer connect to xfinitywifi. It says it connects, but before you can check, it says the link is down. It's raining now, fwiw.

My iPhone connects, so I'm rebooting the router.

For once in my life, after leaving the yogurt strainer in the refrigerator too long, it hasn't gone moldy. I attribute this to the fact that the yogurt was probably two years old before I even bothered straining it, and after it was strained, I dumped the whey out so that it wasn't as humid inside. I still soaked it is bleach a bit to make sure it's totally clean, though. Cleaning mold out of that fine mesh is super annoying.

I wish the router had a memory feature so that I could save the public networks I use most often, at Town Hall, at the Library, at the local Co-op store, etc.

Every time, I have to manually open up the router's admin page and configure the upstream link manually.

Also, Captive WiFi Portals are the worst.

My home network equipment is currently shut down, and my house isn't in range of the secure Xfinity Mobile WiFi hotspots, so I am reduced to using the unsecured xfinitywifi hotspots.

Since I have my travel/portable network rig (travel wifi router, Raspberry Pi running Pi-hole, and powerbank), which I usually use on secured networks, I finally sat down and figured out how to configure my free Proton VPN account on my travel router.

It seems to be working.

For a few seconds, I thought the spacebar was the only key that makes and audible sound when pressed, but it's really all the oversized keys, because they have a spring mechanism under them to equalize the finger pressure, when they are pressed off-center. It's just most obvious with the spacebar.

The space bar on my 2025 Dell laptop has become sticky, and I'm quite certain I have not spilled anything on it. Bother.

I mostly don't even use the keyboard, I usually use it closed with an external keyboard.

Running the tip of my Swiss Army Knife nail file/srewdriver around the edge with a tiny bit of paper towl sprayed with the tiny bit of 91% isopropanol seems to have cured it.

You want to think the best of people, but that just opens you up to being treated in the worst possible manner. If you assume the worst, at least you are prepared as well as you might be. Pessimism is the new optimism, because from there, everything is looking up, and you can be honestly grateful to people who treat you with kindness when you most need it.

These people, without fail, vote for authoritarianism, Republican diehards, whether they tell you about it, or not. Remember that there is a strong thread of affection among Republicans that they are persecuted for their beliefs.

There is a kind of person in this world, who apparently thinks that “following the rules, no matter what” is the most important thing in life. I am dealing with such a person in my life right now, who has power over me, and it’s really aggravating.

Some people really are just incapable of sympathy, empathy, or compassion, and where they show any amount of lenience toward others, it is only for people with the same white) complexion, and only those they regard as their equals or betters.
