Oh, and she also won a scientific World challenge that she presented for last month at the Rutherford Appleton Library.
Of course, until she presented, other scientists were mostly talking to her male colleagues, not thinking she was the brain behind the successful solving. 😤
Today I just want to share that my girlfriend is incredible and I'm really impressed by her achievements.
She had to face her director of thesis for her doctorate because she thought a theory in her field was wrong, even though it was the standard use in the whole domain for 20 years.
Without any support from her university for this, she proved to her director, and to the rest of her field that the theory was wrong and needed to be reevaluated. Another lab contacted her later to confirm they had the same observation.
Given the level of politics in academia and the mysoginy in STEM, I find it incredible and inspiring.

Why do we have to be patriarch assholes?
Being a woman is getting in a submissive position in their eyes somehow. I wish I could slap them all to orbit.
Which type of ADHD are you?

It was in the Ovaltine all along!
So Ovaltine makes you gay, Tylenol makes you autist.
I wonder which beverage makes you trans.
One of the greatest sin of software development is early optimization.
It really complexifies the source in general.
One of the early optimization I wouldn't skip if I were to build a project that might get traction is to use some hexagonal architecture.
I'm finally gonna start migrating my projects from GitHub to Codeberg.
I have my own gitea instance for years (and I should update it to forgejo…) for my own private projects. So Codeberg makes complete sense for hosting my open source projects.
So, roublard is now available at https://codeberg.org/dolanor/roublard
My other "big" project is https://rip.rest . I have some more work to migrate it as I depend on it on a dev project and don't want to disrupt it more.
All right, done for the night. That was a productive session.
Sprinkled with some weird bugs/exceptions.
I had to hack around at some point to not be stuck in trying to figure out everything.
Ugly hacks, but I could focus on improving big chunks on the other side.
For now, 0 loss of feature, but a cleaner design. Me likey!
Starting reorganizing code.
The code as is would take 700MB of ram as I was loading models again and again.
I created some models cache, reduced memory usage by 400MB.
noice!
I finally made it! Till the end of the tutorial!

I did the minimum to have the same behavior of the game.
Now I intend to refactor to remove all the code that used my fake ebiten library to have a minimal diff with the original upstream code.
And then, I will reorganize the code to more fit my style and g3n handling of game/render loop.
