Dream I just woke from:
“Humans can’t hear what (non-human) animals say.” says the animal to another animal.
“But they CAN read when you organize their blood and guts into letters and words.” the other pointed out..

@ivory is support for displaying (and being able to react to) Server Announcements planned?
I sure wish the iOS screenshot crop thing allowed for rotation too.
So dumb I gotta edit it again in Photos just to rotate.
Doing so much old computer / linux stuff rn.
fear of spamming way too much about it tho.
what should I do?
Anyone have a spare 1GbE PCI NIC around? (Not PCI-X or PCIe).
Can swap another piece of tech junk with ya..

Edit: I guess while we’re at it..also:
-IDE hard drive of any size (I used to have a bunch but sold them long ago / only have a bunch of SATA ones around now)
@mwichary interesting talk,
Lot of UI/UX talk, including regarding Apple, thought of you:
Here's a lil timecapsule of a website that's still live.
Btw if you didn’t already know: you can plug any of those figure-8-style small IEC plugs into Apple charging bricks. Even non-Apple ones.
But it certainly looks nicer with the real thing. (And actually included a ground too vs the included 2-prong non-grounded flip-out plug / using misc 2-wire extension cords)
Nice little $10 thrifting haul today.
Been needing CD-Rs for old Linux stuff to tide me over into picoIDE is out.
Wanted a cheap old Apple keyboard for those times you need a USB hub and thin keyboard for basic troubleshooting/ travel shit.
Stunned to find an official Apple power adapter extension cable there too. Yoink.
And longer component cables bc needed it for possible project / existing cables are very short.

I miss the days of Pidgin and proper old IM protocols. And no smartphone. And having to wake up and get out of bed and boot that all up and settle in.
I hate this expectation that I’m online and accessible 24/7. And that if I didn’t read and/or reply right away I’m somehow ignoring etc… no. I got a life I need to deal with. I’ll get to the conversations when I can.
Now it’s just rollover in bed and see folks pining for attention on TG on phone and if I don’t give it I’m the bad guy. 😭
How does one download a video from a makertube/peertube post?
(posting this via latest version of Servo browser btw)
Edit: yt-dlp can do it. (and I used youtube-dl-gui)
Those who grow #tomatoes on here, do you prune the suckers off or do you leave those on the plant?
Folks seem super divided on it.
@ivory can saving images on here please save them at full / original quality?
For some reason I have to navigate off-app in order to save pics at original quality (same posts/links).
Ivory applies some terrible blur or fuzziness or something to pics. Can really hamper the use…
Thank you
What is this plant?
PlantNet is thinking it’s Frost Aster or Tarragon mostly… which is it? Something else? (In WI, USA)
It's mid-Aug and still no buds or flowers on it? I would've shared it / tried to determine months ago but this plant has been weird and still looks nearly the same..
Have you ever seen chili on a baked potato before?
(If you don’t know what either of these are individually—do not vote)
Please help verify ID on this damned yellow composite?
It’s invasive to the US isn’t it
PlantNet thinks it’s Field Sowthistle?
Also wtf is that bug on them?
#Gardening
Any good ivy-like plants (grows/spreads on vertical surfaces) that are native / not invasive for US hardiness zone 4-5?
Especially if they’re easy to get started / growing?
There was something I tried before and a rabbit chomped the heck outta it. Rabbit proof would be nice too.

Saw this and thought of @NanoRaptor
