Break free of the rut you're in.
Create a new rut, much deeper this time, and fill it with books, magic, and more boozy milkshakes.

Progress isn't always dramatic. Sometimes it's just discovering that the thing you've been dreading is considerably less awful than the elaborate production your brain put on about it. #gooderliving

The SS United States is set to be sunk of the coast of Florida in the largest metaphor in today's news.

Eek! There’s a bat in my apartment!

My new theory: anyone who actually has feelings of empathy knows that machines simply... don't. However, sociopaths' sense of empathy is muted at best; often, they believe the rest of us are making it up, and they learn to approximate sympathy, concern, etc. based on mimicking outward appearances.

Therefore, sociopaths may honestly believe that computers can feel empathy, because they process "empathy" the same way. The people claiming computers can have feelings may honestly believe it – because they're sociopaths. #AI #LLM #LLMs

Big news in my little world: next month I’ll become the owner of the bookshop where I work. It’ll be amazing; for now, though, I’m digging into the nuts and bolts of starting a business, because other than the inventory and bookshelves, I’ll basically be starting from scratch.

The biggest decision to make now is what POS system to use, because we’ll do final inventory under the current ownership November 2 to 4 and I’d like to list the inventory in the new system as part of that process. Bookmanager’s waiting list is closed for a year, whereas I’ll be looking for a system to be up and running by the end of this month. Any advice on that? We’re on Shopify now, but I think it might be more than I’m looking for, going forward. The shop is teeny-tiny, and I’m into simplicity (including zero AI) but would like to accept all modes of payment. I’ve heard suggestions for Square, with which my experiences have been mixed in the past, and Basil Lite, which I’d never heard of. . . .

I know I’ve shared some cryptid-quality cell phone vids of the bobcats/kittens who occasionally visit behind my house, but have I shared my favourite pictures I’ve taken with my actually decent camera? #Wildyard #BogLife #Catstodon

This latest bit of mail that added a Jr. to my name isn't quite as fun as the one that called me Mrs. [my cat's name] but I'll probably keep this one forever too.

Can't talk. The lava lamp is getting to the good part.

Sometimes being an adult means when watching porn you catch yourself saying shit like, “that’s a great kitchen.”

Now that's one hell of a #writing prompt.
