Wandering around. Hat, corduroy jacket, they/them pin, purple shoelaces, cyber af headphones

Well, I have arrived #Bostodon #Swapfest

Anyone from #Bostodon at the MIT #Swapfest today?

Every good and enjoyable thing about the Internet is dying under slop, the server load of scrapers fueling slop, and Helen Lovejoy laws. I should get out while the getting is good, or rather, so that my memories aren't of the death throes.

No, I don't know what I'm doing next. (Writing a book that no one will read? No one will read it anyway, whether I'm active in the ruins of the online or not.)

Maybe I should leave fedi

Yep, Martian tripod has been this way, yessir

I have started the process of de-escalating from coffee to tea. Further bulletins as events warrant.

I would also like it if, when you refer to my fanfiction, you do not call me Miss Corny

#Monsterdon

The bat is back!

#Monsterdon

(Stares into coffee cup) this was supposed to make everything better

How would you define a "slow burn" fanfic?

Support your answer with a short paragraph. Or, not, I suppose.

Uh-oh spaghetti-o:

"After the paper was written, the author learned that the same result was also proved independently and by a different method by Ningyi Li [7]. The result is also contained in a paper [8] released by OpenAI on October 6, 2026, in which the proof strategy and specific choices of notation are identical to a preliminary version of the present paper that was uploaded to ChatGPT on September 8, 2026."

Every mathematician with a university subscription to an AI model should start uploading drafts in which they prove the strongest version of their conjectures using the remarkable properties of non-Riemannian hypersquares.

"Instead of defaulting to quick answers, AI responses could default to being more instructive, like a tutor, Christian said."

Or you could just stop using them.

Seriously. Just goddamn finally accept that the companies pushing them are hostile actors who want to put a meter on thought itself, and stop using them.

Current function level: BRAIN AND BRAIN WHAT IS BRAIN

Wait, so now there are "reactions" in GMail that function as reply-to-all?

(Staring at a Github commit where someone used Claude to remove duplicate items in a list)

No, that has to be someone with a cognitive surrender fetish, I refuse to engage

My hot take is that I should be allocated a cult and designated International Thought Leader for AI Safety, because in *my* fanfiction Daria and Jane are vampires who exsanguinate a cop and steal his wife

Alas sweet mother I cannot wire, for Ea-nāṣir has swindled me with substandard copper

Why can we not weave?
