Google's omnimonopolistic control over so much means they can get away with this sort of awful behaviour and suffer no consequences.

Imagine being able to type a single command to access lightning-fast, offline, searchable, and comprehensive documentation presented in a consistent manner, regarding the innards of an operating system's kernel functions. No login wall, no bloated, tracking-infested Web page, no pestering to "Try the New Experience!", no slop asking " ✨ Where do you want do go today?"

man that'd be great.

Volunteered for the second time at a local #RepairCafe , highly recommended experience! Someone put a desk lamp in front of me, so after checking it didn't switch on, I started taking it apart. The owner - the cafe organiser - came back a few minutes later and said "is that my lamp? that was for you to use!" Turns out the extension lead wasn't switched on :-D
