That’s right, I wrote one of those “notes” post. What are you gonna do? Read it? Yeah I didn’t think so.

This season of Slow Horses will be the death of me.

Telling my USA-based colleagues that I’ll be off tomorrow to celebrate the real North American thanksgiving before closing Slack just to feel something.

We already saw the "& Juliet" musical when we went to New York in 2024, but I was so excited to be able to see it again in Vancouver tonight. It didn't disappoint!

Shout-out to the registered nurse that checked on me at the end of the collect. I didn’t have time to finish saying “I’m a little
lightheaded” that she’d already reclined my chair to elevate my legs, put an ice pack under my neck and gave me a bag of chips, a bottle of water and a sick bag of ”just in case”.

This was long overdue but today I was finally able to give blood in Canada. If you’re able, take a look at blood.ca, there is probably a collect event happening soon close to you.

On the plus side, when I was unlocking my bike and getting ready to head back home after indulging on a jelly donut and a ice latte, a lady came out of the building behind me, said "that's a nice bike!" and went on her way.
It made me happy because she's right, it is a nice bike. ❤️

Finally.

During my shift at our local farmers market today, I heard about an old lady complaining that our city today wasn’t the same city she moved in 40 years ago.

That’s… probably a good thing?

I'm really excited to start playing with OpenBao (after using Hashicorp's Vault for a while at Apple), but man the black and white logo on the homepage is freaking me out.

Who needs AI to spawn a buttload of agents when all you need is a cat.

The culprit? This lovely creature I found napping on my desk when I came back to my office. I moved him over a little but didn't realize what he'd done.
I only realized that way later in the evening when I was doing some paperwork.

My laptop felt really sluggish yesterday, the whole afternoon, I only realized in the evening that I had 60 Arc windows opened and in full screen.

👨🏻‍💻 2026 - Week 31: https://romain.codes/2026/08/04/2026-week-31/

So much for trying to maintain a streak from last year, but it helped realizing that it doesn’t really matter. It feels good to be in the mood for writing again thought, even if it’s just for personal updates and random links.
