Erstes Mal "Wattens schauen gian" (Fußballverein) mit K1.

K1 hat's toll gefunden, auch wenn die Mannschaft verloren hat 😃

#metaljourney Day 2

After re-listening #anthrax "Spreading the Disease":

Damn this album slaps.
"A.I.R.", "Madhouse", "Armed and Dangerous", "Medusa" are Hits, that working over the genre boundaries of #thrashmetal .

I think the only real weak song is "The Enemy", which is kinda boring, while I'm unexpected fond for "Lone Justice" and "Stand or Fall". "Afterschock" is fine but "Gung-Ho" is again a great thrasher for the end, especially in the double package with "Medusa".

I really get why Anthrax is one of the "Big 4", even in musical standards.

So back to the #anthrax #metaljourney

You realise how much improvement happend in one year, if you listen the 1984 Debut and it's predecessor "Spreading the Disease".
The songwriting, the production, the instrumenations and vocals are on a new, better, level.

And I think A.I.R. is the best way to show off the new sound

So, where are we after 1984?

Bassist Dan Lilker and Singer Neil Turbin were replaced with Frank Bello and Joey Belladonna, creating the "Classic" Anthrax Line-Up

I mention here Dan Lilker again, because with Nuclear Assault and Stormtroopers of Death (which included Scott Ian and Charlie Benante from Anthrax) he made his share of Thrash Metal classics.

So, it's the early Thrash Metal Album we all know and love.
Songs like "Deathrider", "Metal Thrashing Mad" and "Soldiers of Metal" are great thrash songs and standouts, while "I'm Eighteen" sounded like it could work on a Skid Row Album (which are not formed at this time) and others are good fun, but not great.
I see myself headbanging to this record.

Verdict: Good ol' thrashing fun, some Hits but the second half starts getting repetitive

So, I'm starting my #metaljourney with...

*Drumroll please*

Anthrax (thanks to @derthomas for the recommendation)

Anyway, here is Deathrider from "Fistful of Metal"

I should make a #Metaljouney like @derthomas did.

But I'm not sure with which band I should start.

Please some recommendations :)

@uniinnsbruck macht stabil Werbung für #mastodon (und ja nitpicking man hätte Fediverse schreiben können ;))

Which Band is a "Band of Theseus"?

I kinda miss physical media on PC.

I mean, I read more the Manuals of Baldurs Gate 2 and Diablo than I probably played the games itselfs, but also loved the budget games on game magazines, with demos, songs (i remember one German PC Magazin, which was very fond of Metal Bands) and so on.

To a point, i know it's the past and with the usage of Steam, GOG and so on, and without them Indies would be much harder to get some attention or players.

But still, I kinda miss it sometimes.
