Britain works towards improving its defence against growing AI risks

This seems a good idea to me, we should have been ramping this up years ago.

Physical Review D

Primordial black holes are five dimensional
https://journals.aps.org/prd/abstract/10.1103/g12h-93th

I found an article on this on the Daily Mail website, which for once had a link to the above. Seems interesting. I perhaps need to re-read parts of my Open University book on How the universe works, as a refresh for Brane and String theory. But it does seem interesting.

Going by the DM comments the term 'Big Bang' is still causing confusion, as it implies an explosion, rather than inflation.

I am going to experiment with LibreElec on a Raspberry Pi 3.

Should be good on a 128gb sd card, which will give some space to download and store video.

What is the difference between Vine (or in this case DeVine) and Loops (other than maybe federation and video legnth)?, Imagine what coud be possible if the bbc et al covered releases of PixelFed Loops with this level publicity.

Sadly the only way to get in touch seems to be dropping in or via facebook, if people are interested in finding out more, perhaps as a friend who is on facebook to send them a message and ask them to join Fedi.

Just been helping with a workshop at the Library in collaboration with STEAM Paignton. Using an AAA Battery, 4 neodymium magnets and a copper coiled tube (inside the plastic tube), the idea is to build a train that can be inserted in to one end of the tube, and it emerges from the other end, under its own power.

If you mention Mastodon / Fediverse when making enquiries it raises the profile of Fedi, and challenges the myth no one uses it.

Given the billions being invested in AI, imagine what could be achieved with that sort of investment if directed at science to cure desease, or solve other problems (even if we also use AI to help us).

There is a serious shortage in funding for Brain cancer alone and if that recieved billions in funding then we may actually start to develop treatments.
