@atpfm #askatp did john ever give his full switch 2 review as he promised back when he got it earlier this year? He gave a quick first impressions review but due to the lack of games he promised to revisit it. i think.

@atpfm reaction-episode tonight?

@caseyliss fwiw, your final decision on prioritizing your family and taking them on vacations (which will give your kids great memories for life) over scratching the bmw i4 itch was a very mature and adult decision. you're a great dad. i'm proud of you.

@atpfm #askstp is there some truth to this meme? are millenials (and gen x) really the only computer literate generations? i feel like kids these days have no interest in why or how a computer works, just that it works, and i (39 yo male) constantly have to fix everyone's computer problem no matter how big or small. even kids' and teenagers computers. when i was their age i reinstalled windows on the family computer and set up our home network. is all lost or is there hope for gen alpha?

@hotdogsladies Hi Merlin! How did you set up your browser to hide / remove all the promos on macrumors.com? Did you use StopTheMadness?

@rmondello why did you remove the single tap-to-copy password and go back to the more cumbersome first tap to get the option to copy password and then tap said option to copy it. feels like a regression. did someone higher up not like the single tap to copy?

@caseyliss It's a beautiful morning here in norway, i have my coffee. my kid is eatinghis breakfast, and so I say to siri "play something". "Alright", it answered. "Here's some music picked just for you". It was Dave Mathew's Band Crash Into Me. I know of this song, but i don't have it in my library. But it fit the morning perfectly melody wise. And i really liked it. I think i might be a casey liss 😜❤️

@rmondello How do I report sites where Safari Autofill stopped auto-filling out username and password? It's regarding the norwegian national ID-portal BankID. Example go to this webpage and choose "BankID". it takes you to a portal. Passwords used to be able to fill this one out, but now it doesnt: https://login.idporten.no/authorize/selector

Follow up on Hidra. You may have already been informed but the phonetic pronounciation of Hidra in american is "Heed-Rah". The "R" obviously will have to be a soft rolling R (think a toned down spanish or middle ages british rolling R) and not the cowboyey "Arrr" that americans use :) Siracusa is very close in his pronounciation, but still has a tad too much of that american "R". Source: Am norwegian :)

@mullvadnet why is the 90 day subscription more expensive than just buying 30 days three times consecutively? 30 days 60NOK. 90 days 200NOK. If anything it should be 180NOK (60x3) or perhaps even cheaper as in bulk-discount. What is going on?

@rmondello Password app on 15.3 still resizes to the default window size when cmd+w *sigh*... I thought you said the bug was well understood when we discussed it during 15.1.

#askatp @atpfm I am, like Casey (iirc), an avid Day One user and write almost weekly on my mac - because, you know, keyboards. I was beyond excited when Apple released Journal in 2023, albeit a bit bummed with it being an iOS exlcusive only. I assumed Apple would dip their Journaling-toes in the iOS waters first, and then support macOS the following year. Alas, two years in, Journal remains an iOS exclusive. Is this a canary in the coal mine for Journal, or worse, a bad omen for macOS' future?

#askatp @atpfm Just listened to your favorite laptop member special, and I too think (and also own) that the 14" MBP M1 Pro is the best mac ever made, and will be for the forseeable future. But... how long do you think it will get new macOS-releases? The usual 5-6 years, or longer since it's so fast, and M-processors are different from Intel ones performance wise. I just don't want to give up my M1 Pro too "early" after just 5-6 years. But I also want the newest macOS :D What do you guys think?

@rmondello Actually it just changed back to the default again, without rebooting, all I did was use the menu bar icon, and when I alt-tabbed back into the app from Safari, this is what the window size looks like. What's going on?

@rmondello Hi! Is it just on my system, or does the new Apple Passwords app for macOS Sequoia not remember window size between reboots? It keeps going back to the default size which is more wide than tall. Is this a known bug? I can create a feedback like you suggested last time if it's of any help, and give you the reference number.

@rmondello I have found a bug in Passwords app where it randomly resizes back to the default window size, despite med haaving just resized it. It happens randomly. Is there any point in sending a feedback to Apple, or is that just a black hole where feedback goes to die?

@siracusa @atpfm #askatp John sounds a bit anticlimatic about his long-awaited-finally-here, iPad Pro with OLED. A four minute review… from the hypercritical Siracusa? What´s wrong with the device? Was it not as massive an upgrade as he had hoped? Is the oled ipad just…. «fine» and perhaps not worth upgrading to considering the price if all you do is just watch movies on it?

@atpfm #askatp Is the Apple Studio Display a good purchase today, two years in since launch? In Norway, I can get a second hand one (entry level one) in mint condition for 1300 USD. A brand new one from Apple Norway is 1750 USD (incl taxes). So quite the savings. Is it still a good purchase today at 1300USD or is the tech too old (and not that great to begin with) to be worth it in 2024, and should I rather wait for the Studio Display 2 (with hopefully a better webcam and promotion?)

@marcan @AsahiLinux I can't find an ISO-file for Asahi? I want to try it in a VM before comitting to install it on my M1 MBP 14 first. Do you offer ISOs or is the curl-script the only way to download and install asahi? (I'm not a developer, just curious about Linux)

#askatp @atpfm 2 months in, how does the ATP crew like or dislike the action button? Is it useful? Is it just meh? or just irritating or gimmicky? any accidental (🎵accidental🎵) activations? shortcomings? wishlist for future upgrades to it? Or will it go the way of the Touchbar and get less and less attention from Apple over the next years? I feel like @siracusa and @caseyliss will have strong opinions on this.
