RE: https://mastodon.de/@the_moep/116714464264727202

I'm still looking for work, be it in software development, system administration, project management or video editing/live streaming. I'm both open to employment as well as contracting (see the quoted post for rates).

Some important details:

• I am most likely not able to work full time
• I'm located in Dresden, Germany (I don't want to relocate, the possibility of remote work is required)
• I prefer working on Free and Open Source Software
• I will not work for a sole profit-driven endeavour, your project should aim to make society better
• I will not work on or with generative AI

Another day, another AI-generated PR on GitHub in violation of the contributing guidelines.

I wish I would find the time and energy to move all my repos away from Slophub ;_;

I have never really put down the rates I have for software development contracting work and seeing as I'm back being fully self-employed due to getting laid off last year I thought I should finally do that. (I offer a 50% discount for any work done on open source projects!)

More info here: https://blog.phoenix616.dev/posts/contracting (I am also open for more long term contracts, ideally in the open source or gaming industry.)

If you want to just support my open-source work then you can also do that through a direct tip here: https://phoenix616.dev/tip

They: "On a scale from 1 to 10: How lazy are you?"

Me: Using the copy fail exploit instead of sudo to avoid having to type my password

I just had to cancel all the #IssueHunt bounties on my open source projects as AI-bots kept flodding them with low effort pull requests ;_;

Also PSA to not use IssueHunt... it's incredibly annoying to get money out of them.

I knew the girl looked familiar... and this sticker found in a sticker box at #39c3 indeed links to @prahou 's amazing analognowhere comic 👀

For anyone not aware:

kurtjmac, the Youtuber/Streamer who has been walking in one direction in Minecraft for the last 14 years in his series "Far Lands or Bust" is reaching the "end" of the world this Saturday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daXNSBw6G54

In the wake of countries passing legislation to prevent minors from accessing the web freely the Matrix.org home server is banning everyone under 18 years from using their home server starting August 7: https://matrix.org/legal/terms-and-conditions/

Can't wait for them to implement some flawed age verification too. Seeing as the Matrix Foundation is based in the UK this isn't too far fetched imo. Time to finally look into self-hosting a home server I guess but most people will not have that privilege, especially if they aren't old enough to buy their own servers or services. :S

Kinda sucks how the free web is dying. Without it being available when I was a kid I definitely wouldn't be where I am today. I feel like we should not let such an important resource as the internet die this way just because parents can't do their job in raising their kids...

Gotta love how the bug bounty site YesWeHack keeps rejecting my KYC as they want a full photo of my ID even though I have the right to redact certain information... (they seem to even have an automatic black bar detector lol)

Kinda annoying when all you want to do is report a security issue through the proper channels -.-

Finally found the time to move my home server to an SSD... and new hardware 👀

It begins 👀

Although I have been on the Fediverse since 2017 I guess one should introduce themselves again when switching instances ;D

I am a Software Developer and Systems Administrator from Dresden, Germany with a big interest in video games, free software, open source, self hosting and decentralization.

I mainly program in Java and for Minecraft-related projects under the name @phoenix616 (I run the Minebench.de server and have contributed to Paper and Spigot (which I also moderate plugins for)) but also dabble in other game dev and web projects and run most of my own services (like crafter.social and moep.social and lots more stuff

I sometimes create videos and stream gaming and programing with friends or alone (check out moep.tv to learn more) and I have a certain interest in pizza, mate, llamas and ponies.

Also if you want to know why I moved, check out my post.
