RIP Margaret Hamilton. You paved the way for women in software engineering. I've always loved this image of her with the huge stack of code the team she led wrote for the Apollo Guidance system. Mad respect.

Is givealittle not working for anyone else? I've tried Firefox and Chrome. I can't select how much to give nor change the tip amount.

My stars aren't updating when I star something. Am I shadowbanned somehow?

Browser despair. I've tried so many only to find out they are shoving AI into it or that it's chromium-based. Surely there's one browser out there (pref with tab groups) that is privacy based, not related to G**gle and with no AI shite in it!?

Yesterday I rotated and refilled our family emergency kit with food and basic supplies. I plan to add to it a little at a time. I also wrote down the expiry dates so I can watch for those coming up and rotate them out before they expire. #BePrepared #NZCivilDefence

Electro peeps, should this unit make a whirring "computer running" noise?
It has wireless charging, 3 USB charging ports and 3 electrical plugs. The noise happens even when nothing is plugged in, as soon as the power button is pressed.

Do we have a word yet for the pursuit of reclaiming older tech like cds and mp3 players? It's sort of linked to degoogling but it feels like it should have its own word, there's a joy in it that I don't get from merely degoogling.

Holy shit, @pluralistic 's Unauthorised Bread is already here!
There is a food kit service with its own oven which scans a barcode on the meal kit and cooks it automatically.
We are so royally fucked. No link, you can look it up yourself, I'm not gonna be responsible for giving them any traffic!

Te whānau Pūtangitangi on their morning waddle again! The ducklings are starting to look like pāpā!

Native plant gardeners of Ōtautahi Christchurch and Selwyn area! Can I please harvest harakeke seed pods from your garden? Looking for places that have a high number of large, established harakeke plants so I don't take too many from each plant. Or if you know of wild locations that people wouldn't mind my foraging in!

Foraging question: is it OK to forage in public parks? For example: harakeke seed pods.
I don't intend to take too many from each plant, just a handful from each flower spike. Is this OK or frowned upon?

At Pet Direct last weekend. It took 3 humans to make this photo happen:

Got to a point in my degoogling journey where I wanted a mp3 player and wired headphones when I realised my Playdate can do that! 1 cheap cable for my kids old headphones later:

Whelp, time to go back to this account for a while. Can't deal with reality anymore.

That's my tweezers and a magnet on a string on that roof in case you were wondering how my day is going!

I'm looking for a peaceful area of trees, that won't have a lot of through traffic. Somewhere accessible and quiet when I can just chill with trees and fresh air safely. Pref near Halswell/Cashmere side of Ōtautahi Christchurch. Must be accessible as I am ambulatory disabled amd cannot walk far or steadily. No hills!

Really bad anxiety today, it feels like I'm walking through an alley of enemies with every step while simultaneously a huge weight presses down on my head and shoulders.
