Geez, the "curl joke.malware | sh" wasn't a joke about some foolish tool developers. Even the most serious and popular tools are now asking you to pipe to Bash or PowerShell. Did they give up on making binaries or something? What's so hard about autogenning binaries that you have to tell your new users to run a package manager script to start?

Found a buku latihan (Note: "buku latihan" means "exercise book" in Malay) next to me. Contents more or less scratchpad. And fountain pen always in my satchel
I wonder what were the usage statistics of notepad.exe in Windows 1
The instinct to open notepad.exe despite how suboptimal it is is a reflection of this
Not having pen and paper is actually super annoying
No doubt tomorrow I will be asked to do some more things like public side parking whatnot, than a clone of today. Every second out there, with some Malaysian drivers blazing into lanes with expectation of good distance management and mirror attention, is another I can crash in. I'm not very keen on completing ten more hours behind the wheel, let alone dozens more in unironically using a car
At the end I managed to do three laps of the route on public roads, the instructor helping only in braking on the bends I was inattentively driving into. I was too focused on not crashing with other vehicles by looking at my instruments that I didn't pay nearly enough attention to the very front windshield. And the terrain here is hilly, so similar to cycling, you have to accelerate uphill and brake downhill. Except the pedals of a car are more delicate and unresponsive than the pedals of a bicycle.
At the end I didn't incur a RM10k cost on anyone involved. And I took all 90 degree turns with better positioning this time, so I didn't deplete my intructor's confidence like last time. But I am not happy anyways. I don't really want to use this kind of vehicle. You can viscerally feel the huge leap in attention and knowledge requirement for this mode of transport

Attended my first lesson in the "On the road" lesson group. Tomorrow is another one, to rush into 2/6 completed.
I haven't attended a driving lesson in over a month, but even so I was not pleased to push myself into this. Instructor took me one round in the course to refresh my memory, then demonstrated the extra-course route by their hands, then we came back and I was made to drive to the entrance and start replicating it, immediately.
My intention was to stop the car there and tell the instructor I'm done for the day. However, the car right behind me disagreed. I had nowhere to go but out. So into rushing traffic I had to send out my driving

I wonder how many of my posts you can screenshot in the Mastodon container element then reupload would become some sort of meme
Like doing the trick in Ultima V where you wait for an NPC to open the stable doors to exit and in the half second where it remains open after they leave the tile you rush in to go steal a horse. But you film that sequence of like twenty seconds and upload it as though it's some remarkable and entertaining gamer trick
It's kinda weird how Web 2.0 started with everyone being surprised that certain posts went "viral", and now in Web 3.0 we just have premanufactured memes that are guaranteed to reach some degree of virality when you repost them
Like yeah my personal posts I expect no interactions, this random image I expect interactions, that is just a thing we recognise now

In Malaysia we have so much of it from the imported Japan "bundles" that some clothes shopkeepers have resorted to dismantling them into cloth squares and sewing them as T-shirt pockets and T-shirt rears.
None of these are the basic generic ones by the way, they're cutting the ones with interesting patterns that would've been great in its original state as a kimono.
It's like the old world is just burning away - all the kimono norms of what level of pattern intricacy for what social occasion, all forgotten and ignored, into "oooh fancy. Cloth! Cut." Which.. yeah, someone dared to throw this into the trash. The old generations' treasure
Like seriously, I don't care what all the beautiful pristine aunties in Japan say. If a vintage kimono ends up in your country's marketplace - that is landfill-bound, someone in Japan discarded all of their parents' belongings. No one else is going to buy it. Just rescue it. It'll feel less insulted being worn lazily in your hands than not at all
Yeah, it's not really challenging or time-consuming to wear a kimono if you're carefree about the neatness...
You only need one belt for every item of wafuku. So if you see a vintage kimono for cheap and don't want it to be abandoned, you can make use of it with one cloth belt and then a suitably encompassing set of inner clothing (as undeerwear to protect the kimono from body sweat). Or if you have a nagajyuban then it's one more belt for that.
Once you have the kimono, you can just set up the skirt and do a hip tie and you're done. The skirt is rigid and you can let the top just be loose, as though you're a samurai. Or use a clip to clip the two halves together as a collar.
Wearing guides tell you to aim your skirt in a careful way, that is under the assumption you don't have a mirror to notice the two halves of your skirt are misaligned. If you have a mirror just look at it and adjust as needed.
