Stealth preview of the $thing I've been working on: a browser-based SPICE simulator.
Today for the first time I got to run a real simulation and put the result on a chart! This is an opamp square wave generator with a true model for the TL071.
The engine is NGSPICE, compiled to WASM. Most of the effort so far has gone into the schematic editor.
All of the code has been human-written by me, in vanilla JS + HTML/CSS.
At work we've added Universal Paperclip as part of our onboarding training for new hires since it makes some useful points on AI if you spend enough time with it. https://www.decisionproblem.com/paperclips/index2.html
Some of the new college grads pointed their AI agents at it to play for them. None of the points were got.

"Banning statutory terminology inside federal agencies is not an eccentric
linguistic choice: it is an administrative kill switch. The 2020 National AI
Initiative Act anchored civilian oversight, FTC inquiries, and NIST safety
standards to the explicit phrase “artificial intelligence.” By striking that
specific phrasing from new executive directives, the White House
disconnects upcoming federal model deployments from established
legislative definitions and public rulemaking procedures"
Plausible argument that "SI" is not merely the usual Trumpian headfake, but legally puts regulation with the spooks rather than civil society:

Yūsai-tei (祐斎亭) is a workshop and exhibition space in Arashiyama, displaying pieces by the master dyer 'Yūsai' (祐斎).
Yūsai-san is a leading figure in 'yume kōro-zome' (夢こうろ染), a process of dyeing that creates a pattern capable of changing colour in the sun.

We had a fine view of this AM’s occultation of Jupiter by the Moon here in Bristol, TN, worthy of the early wake up. It was neat to see Europa pop Back out before Jove, and track the pair right up into the daytime sky post sunrise.
Here are my pics taken around downtown Bristol TN: https://spaceweathergallery.com/indiv_upload.php?upload_id=238380

Finally, here are some great captures of this AM’s lunar occultation of Jupiter courtesy of: Tom Wildoner, Bob Hatfield, and Gary Scimeca:
“The Residents began around 1974 in San Francisco, an art project presenting itself as a rock band … Because at first they could hardly play, they could play anything.”

Any sensor recalcitrant enough to make me choose violence, that is, hook up the logic analyzer, goes on the shitlist. Looking at you TLV493D-A1B6

I keep looking at this souvenir from my trip to LA and I still have a hard time understanding it’s real and not a sci-fi prop
Very excited to present a stunning classification theorem of Noble Polyhedra by Connor Hill, on Numberphile.
