Also her article about banning frats is 💯. Not only are frats a hotbed of rape and misogyny, their environment is getting replicated in the workplace, with startups and tech companies wanting to have frat cultures. #cornell7 https://substack.com/home/post/p-218484501
Don’t give up on politics. Don’t reject it. It’s not only our responsibility to make this country work more fairly than it does now. It’s also a helluva lot of fun. There are very few things more fun than raising hell for the good of the people.
Molly Ivins (1944–2007) American writer, political columnist [Mary Tyler Ivins]
Interview (2006-10-09), “Who’s It Screw, and Who’s Doing the Screwing?” by Rosalind Alexander, Seattle Weekly

@mekkaokereke it’s also like the Nazi bar effect in tech. They didn’t say anything when the fascists showed up. Then anyone with antifascists tendencies got pushed out.
A quotation from Bill Watterson
CALVIN: It offends the human ego that nature is indifferent to us. Nature doesn’t care if people live or die. It refuses to be tamed. It does whatever it wants and acts like people don’t matter. It won’t confirm our right to be here. That drives people crazy. We can’t stand being ignored. It’s insulting and … hey!
HOBBES: YAWWNN. [wanders off]
CALVIN: I think that’s also why some people don’t like cats.
