I am here, but I'm also on Bluesky. A year ago, the two platforms were quite comparable, in terms of the conversation.
But now, I can see the quality of Bluesky visibly declining. There, daily, I am followed by fake or "broadcast only" accounts. I see any number of posts that are algorithmic in character. Here is a welcome respite!
Look, I know you haven't got 40 minutes to think about anything, let alone what technology is doing to us, psychologically.
But if you did, this would be a great primer.
Artists. Authors. Screenwriters. Game Designers. Futurists. Listen Up!

Congratulations to the BBC for coming out with a damning investigation of Reform UK propaganda RIGHT AFTER the election to which this evidence was salient.
Great job not revealing this BEFORE voters chose who to elect!
In order to shape the future, you need to own the ability to imagine.
I perceive a coordinated effect (not necessarily a conscious effort) that suppresses our imaginative faculties.
News media, entertainment, tech plutocrats and vested interests collude to stop you from imagining alternate futures.
This isn't a conspiracy—it's an emergent effect, like flocking or swarming.
A big money stampede is trampling our ability to think for ourselves, recasting heroes, villains, and visions of the future as endless remixes of intellectual properties. "Dreaming" is reframed as "content".
The first step to freedom is to build your own imagination. Imagination is the seed of art.
Art is not "content".
Art is discontent.
High-speed nuance.
What if the primary use case (and, presumably, intended purpose) of Large Language Models is to destroy journalism, to destroy civil discourse, to destroy culture, and, as a consequence, to destroy society itself?
To be honest, it's the pattern that best fits observable reality.
