"We accept AI PRs, we don't accept slop" is like saying "We accept McDonalds burgers, we don't accept fast food". Seriously ridiculous.

Nerds from Mastodon, I have a question!

I'm looking for a VPS service that is:

- Not overpriced.
- Respects privacy.
- Doesn't have ties with bigots.
- Doesn't buy into the AI bubble.
- Has high or even unlimited bandwidth.

I need it to do some reverse proxying to get my self-hosted apps online, but the options I've seen so far all fail some criteria.

I would also appreciate boosts for better reach.

Day 6 of CONTROL Resonant from Linux. I'll focus on exploration before going back to my quests: https://lou.cx/twitch

This is the first and last post I'll do about LLMs. I find them boring, counterproductive and damaging to a point that I don't want to waste any more space in my blog talking about them 😪. Still, I think the responsibility talk is an important talk to have, specially with the current state of the world. Feel free to share if you agree with the points in the article 😊

Sad day 💔

Every time conservatives say "we need more children", they actually mean "we need more workers". Looks like some folks need that explained for some reason.

Capitalists only can exist when they exploit the worker class, and they have been exploiting it so hard the working class is dying off (people doesn't want to have kids), so now they want to force women to have kids because they really need to have workers to keep existing.

Capitalism will bring itself to extinction.

Also feel free to comment in the only open PR they have with all the community voicing their concerns and disgust: https://github.com/bigcode-project/opt-out-v2/pull/3724

Reminder:

Your public code in GitHub is part of the training used in “The Stack”, a LLM model by Hugging Face. If you haven’t opted out yet, then your code is part of the data (they made it opt-out because they know making opt-in would yield really poor results). Use this page to check and create a PR to remove your code from it:

I though this person was cool, but being against writing alt text in images is such a red flag.

Tools should have a predictable and deterministic output. Humans making mistakes doesn’t make error prone tools redeemable. I hate this take and I see it so often coming from grifters.

Lots of people focus in this part of the response from Torvalds:

> This is *NOT* some kind of "social warrior" project, never has been, and never will be

Yes, he’s basically recognizing he’s “not woke”, ergo he’s a fascist. But he also said something I always find cringy:

> Because it's not like natural intelligence is always all that great either.

That angle is always idiotic. Nobody is saying people make no mistakes, but if the tool makes mistakes ON TOP of the user, that is WORSE.

Remember kids, avoid pointing green lasers to these cameras, or bagging them, or getting a cheap battery saw near their poles, that’s very bad and very ilegal. This is even worse if you look for terrorist sites like DeFlock to know exactly where these cameras are. Besides Flock is following the law, it isn’t tracking people at all, so don’t worry about it!

I'm muting conversation of the post. I'm taking some time off from social media like Instagram, and I stayed in Mastodon because it's generally more chill, but this post is kinda overwhelmingly popular, so I'll check it manually instead of getting bombarded with notifications constantly.

Enough said! :pensive_party_blob:

A better way of wording it would be:

> Engineers say "Good, Cheap, Fast. Pick Two"'. AI grifters pick Fast twice while convincing themselves they picked all three.

But I'll not edit the post because I don't want to spam all the boosters with the change 😅

In engineering we say "Good, Cheap, Fast. Pick 2"'. AI is when you pick Fast twice.

This is the mofo in the nazi site announcing his big boy project: https://x.com/lvwerra/status/2080268415697047852

He hasn't dealt with the last few thousand opt-out requests, and he might use an excuse like "the volume of requests is too high to deal with". I HATE this sloperators so much.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@concretedog/116976794778175500

FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, I FUCKING HATE SLOPERATORS AND THEIR "PROJECTS" BASED ON SCRAPING EVERYONE'S WORK. CAN WE BAN THEM FROM THE WEB ALREADY?!

On thing I can be thankful about this end-stage capitalism world we are living in, is that LLMs are working as "the great filter" and I'm connecting with some great human beings who are as against LLMs as I am, so a beautiful community of developer who actually care is forming little by little 💖

I was checking the description of an event, and one of the proposed activities is:

> "How are teams leveraging AI for high impact?"

lol, by dropping it. LLMs only "high impact" is how much more expensive and shittier the code becomes.

I'm obviously not going to go to that. Absolute waste of time.

If anyone in the fediverse works in Shopify, I'll greatly appreciate your help to get this escalated to remove the site quickly. When you google my name that site shows up, and I don't want people to get scammed using my name.

Boosts are greatly appreciated too!
