hey @Epsilon_02, @6543 I see you two are the ones working on the-federation (next) and now that fediverse.observer is gone and the-federation.info is no longer running it would be a great time to have something a little more robust up. Is the `next` project still planning on launching somewhere?
@mohammedjamilsh injured his foot yesterday and is seeking help to pay for an operation. If you have a few extra € or $ he would vary much appreciate the help.
I haven't done these in a while, but there hasn't happened much lately: #Traffic to @heiseonline from #Mastodon is stable, #Bluesky & #Threads combined bring in less. Facebook has lost much recently; #Flipboard is stable too.
Fediverse.observer (one of the longest running fediverse instance and software trackers, as it started for Diaspora) shut down. I think it would be really good to figure out how we can at least get a copy of the historical data and get that back up somewhere.
learned this thru https://cake.kobel.fyi/c/fediverse@lemmy.world/p/225784/fediverse-observer-is-offline-and-no-longer-being-developed

Come on (Other) show this poll how much it's missing out

@gruber I went to X to see what the conversation about this piece was like there. The post directly below yours was an ad by the CEO’s PAC trying to scare me with the idea of gay people voting.
@evan I oft think about how in the heyday of status.net, for which those of us in the know remember as an amazing piece of work you did, that Twitter suddenly decided to dismantle the two way bridge.
I see posts redirected to #Fediverse from #BlueSky & #Threads & I smh.
I came back to microblogging (I refuse to call it social media 👴) precisely because Fediverse acheived the dream you reached for in status.net. Let's push to leave the rest behind.
(Also thinking about how Trump uses Mastodon).
cant wait till the graffiti kids realize these are available to order on temu

today at the polling place I was told to remove my keffiyeh before voting. 🍉
I insisted on knowing the legal basis, since it is neither a party-political symbol nor is not banned as unconstitutional. after a long discussion they couldn’t give me any reason other than an internal instruction at an election training conducted by the berlin senate.
I wonder if the fascist in combat boots, camouflage, and right-wing pins who came after me had to vote naked.
seeing people talk about the vibecoded photoshop "clone" called PhotoCraft but this one is much much closer https://imageflow.dev
Probably cause its free but not open source so they could pull the plug at any moment. But it does show how close a vibecoded photoshop can get to the original...

We are proud to announce that masto.nyc now has its own Android App! This is a fork from the mainline Mastodon that is a bit more tailored to the Masto NYC experience. Give it a try and we would love to hear any feedback!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nyc.masto.android
- This app is complementary to the greater Fediverse app ecosystem. Using it isn't, and never will be a requirement to use masto.nyc
- iOS is also in the works
How to capture device audio on the web today? 🎵🔊
getDisplayMedia() is not for audio only and forces users to go through a screen sharing option.
Not great for audio use cases (notetaking, music, ...)
We want to fix this. We have a proposal and would love your input ♥️
