It’s the 31st anniversary of Hackers (1995) European release! In (some) cinemas in the UK today in the mid-90s.

They had limited screenings of it at The Point in Milton Keynes, which was my nearest ‘big’ cinema at the time.

My mum wouldn’t take me so I had to wait until it came out on VHS early the following year.

Busy Friday so far: Updated pt2-clone and ft2-clone on IRIX with static SDL 2.33.0

Yo chooms, I got a little bored again, so I built a preem little visualizer for @veilamp in the style of the :playstation: PlayStation 2 towers.

https://datakra.sh/logs/ps2towers-visualizer-for-veilamp

If you've got the latest Veilamp, slap this plugin in it to add this crazy thing in your visualizers tab. Warning: it will probably make your laptop fan blow hard!!

https://benbrown.com/txt/read/2026-10-07

HEADROOM skin for Veilamp, coming soon. Designed to work in smaller windows with less features. ;p

Are you chooms ready for an absolute shitpost? :teto_loading:

Ok, chooms, I’d like to apologize in advance and put the blame squarely on @jadedtwin, who asked when Doom would be available in @veilamp

Let’s put it this way: right now. Okay, not quite yet. It’s still a mess. But we’re working on it. @distortiondoll and I, that is. We’re both responsible for this nonsense.

Sorry! Sorry for the ultra-compressed video as well, it's just to make you even more excited for this nonsense.

UPDATE: Here it is!!! https://datakra.sh/logs/doom-visualizer-for-veilamp

Looks like we finally have a working SDL2 (2.33.0) package for IRIX SGUG-RSE, with GL support. And even fullscreen works now! Have to do more testing first, before it gets released

Finally, finally got rights back to this one and rebuilt it from parts: https://wetdryvac.bandcamp.com/album/ionosphere - and yes, an odd-angle half done painting has been adjusted digitally into the album cover, because it matches the inside of my head.

Also on Itch: https://wetdryvac.itch.io/ionosphere - for a dollar cheaper.

Happy Wednesday, everyone! In addition to being hump day, it's also RELEASE DAY! #Veilamp 0.3.6 is being built right now and should be available a little later this morning (barring any unexpected CI failures).

This *is* the release with the LCARS skin :)

@Rob_T_Firefly @OffTheHook When I started to learn to code more seriously during my CS bachelor degree, I got this Lego set.

For every programming exam I had, I brought this Lego minifig of Margaret Hamilton with me, to inspire me and bring me luck. It worked 💚

Thank you Margaret for being such an inspiration for everyone, but especially for all the women in tech. You will live forever in my heart :heart_cyber:

RIP to our coder queen, Margaret Hamilton, whose code was as tall as she was and got humanity to the Moon.

May her code forever live on!
