@jgilbert @DeliaChristina I’ll just post this here again. Just remember that these men were somewhere in the middle and women are surrounded by them. No one on the left side showed up.
Why is there a button for an option I can't turn off?
I need help from men who are shorter than 5'4". Where do you find coats that keep you warm and dry and don't look ridiculous on you? Are there particular styles that work better?
Kids section is not an option because I am too wide.
Please boost so someone else short and male might see it.
Hey Fediverse!
If your partner likens an item of your clothing to something of a different style, material and shape, but the comparison is extremely unflattering and suggests it looks terrible on you, do they owe you a new and less terrible looking equivalent item?
Please boost for wider sample of opinions
Autistic people, how do you feel about surprises? I am firmly in the 'this ruined a perfectly good gift/experience' camp and family never forgave me for not pretending to be happy with a terrifying cuddly toy when I was 4. I have recently realised that's not a universal autistic thing, and am curious how many of you like them
Oh my god, these are real, actual slides from a SoftBank presentation. Pulitzer-worthy
Apparently I was supposed to hold it by the knob
The Fediverse is full of people proficient with technology. Whatever kind you think of, there's someone here who's an expert with it.
And then there's me. I just spent 5 minutes unsuccessfully attempting to operate a pull cord
Sometimes you can really tell a Wikipedia article is gonna be good from the table of contents.
Dragon Dads (https://dragondads.org/) is a group of dads and other caregivers who are affirming and supportive of LGTBQIA+ kids. One of their big activities is going to #pride events and giving out free dad hugs. Many of them have been doing this for 10 years or more. This was my first time.
Let me tell you, I saw, and felt, absolutely everything.
There was someone who squealed when they saw the booth and did a ten yard sprint to catch me in a flying hug. There were people who walked by several times before they timidly came up and asked for a hug.
There were people who wanted long hugs, side hugs, pats on the back, fist bumps. (We have a menu.) People who don't like hugs, but were nonetheless thrilled that we were doing it.
People told me that their dads had passed away, refused to have anything to do with them, or that they had had to cut their own dads off. One told me "I miss my dad", and when I said I was so sorry, they said "he's in Arizona".
There was an elderly person in a wheelchair who told us how their alcoholic father used to beat them, then told us all the things they had accomplished in life in spite of him, just to show him.
There were people who trembled. People who sobbed. People who melted.
A giant dude in one of those neoprene dog masks (with my permission) grabbed me in a great big hug and lifted me off the ground.
I leaned down to hug people in wheelchairs, and stretched up to hug a woman who I swear was seven feet tall.
Some people stayed to chat, or to cool off in our misting fan in the blistering heat. Others got a hug and left quickly, tears in their eyes and a "thank you" on their lips.
Absolutely everyone who wanted a hug got one.
I've signed up for more events.
FYI, trans people aren't supposed to use facilities that don't align with their assigned gender, but trans men can also be excluded from women's facilities if we look too manly. We are not supposed to be anywhere except non gendered spaces.
This is a direct consequence of all those people who, instead of pushing back against the entire belief that trans people are somehow dangerous when we're just trying to change or pee or get medical treatment, opted to go on about how women would be forced to share facilities with trans men. I hope you're all proud of what you accomplished there. I assume so, since people are still saying it.
If I see one more "Ha ha ha, this will force trans men into women's facilities and that'll really threaten women's safety" take, I am going to identify as a really serious problem for the person saying that. I am 5 feet tall and I also just want to be able to pee.
#DareToBeDifferent you say?
Couple of absolute classics warmly inviting the gender binary to fade into obsolescence, where it has always belonged.

I was recently in a study skills workshop where speech to text software was discussed as helpful if you can say words more easily than you can type them.
Obviously being mainstream education, there were recommendations for Windows and macOS, but nothing else.
I want to go back to the accessibility team with suggestions, because if I complain they didn't have any they'll most likely say something insincere and then never do anything about that.
So, if you have #recommendations for free or low cost Speech to Text software for #Linux users, please could you share them with me?
Trans joy at finding and embracing ourselves is so pure. I absolutely love seeing other trans people picking up names, pronouns, clothing and hairstyles that bring them joy. Especially when they're ones that I discarded because they didn't fit me. You like that dress I brought to the clothes swap? You look amazing in it, go and have many good times wearing it. You're rocking my deadname? It's a beautiful name and it suits you, glad to see it bringing you happiness. Just because something wasn't for me, doesn't mean I can't get behind your love for it
Trans people taking testosterone are such a powerful argument against the belief that testosterone is what makes men violent, rather than a lack of accountability
Good morning from Arthur, who is halfway between murdering his catnip bug and snuggling up to it for a little snooze.
May your day contain precisely the correct amount of violence, affection and naps. #CatsOMastodon #JoinIn
EMAIL WRAPPED 2025
This year, you received too fucking much email!
Number of emails that found you well: zero
Number of emails that you printed, even though you didn't consider the environment: zero
Number of times an "out of office" autoresponder was immediately followed by the person answering your email: all of the times
Your favorite email was: none of them
Next year, you are considering: are there any countries where email is illegal, and what are their immigration laws?
There are a lot of cursed computers things but this is the most cursed computers thing
