If I never see a README.md with emoji in headers or lists again, it’ll be too soon. After their heavy use by “web3” and now LLMs, they’re signifiers of perfidy.

We euthanized our cat Lethe today. She had a good long run but her quality of life was gone, and it was time. She was my companion for 18 years, and the first photo I took of her (with all the quality of a Palm Treo's camera) is still my favorite. So it goes.

Extremely-old baby Lethe had a very rough week, but is acting more normal and feeling very cuddly right now. Chara is also here, for what I’ll assume is supportive reasons.

. @casey and I are celebrating Halloween and her birthday as one should: by watching Total Recall.

@vga256 I had a hankering to go back through some Betrayal at Krondor memories earlier, so: thank you for keeping the Help Web available!

Chara is a cartoon cat sometimes. #catsofmastodon

There’s a part of me that is tempted to take a week off just to play old text/ASCII-art-based adventure games and RPGs.

I feel like more people should share my eternal antipathy for Geoff Keighley for his disinterested Blizzcon hosting 15 years ago.

I caved. I expect I’ll be playing it tomorrow.

My Patch 8 BG3 run is going swimmingly, but I sure am hearing the dark call of Oblivion Remastered.

Current status: watching a video speculating about clothing in Elder Scrolls VI, since that’s where our world is now.

I saw this wall decoration on a for-rent ad for a local office space and my soul immediately shriveled up and died.

For the past couple months, I've been getting 1-3 spam calls per weekday from distinct numbers in my area code, which all leave automated messages like "Hello? Are you there?”. Since I can't block all calls outright (much as I'd want to), I really just have to wait out the clock, blocking them as they come along.

So, ruling out my own number and any beginning with 0, I only have to wait... a bit over 2,747 years, and I'll be in the clear.

Well, now I'm sad.

Lethe's "senile old kitty” habit of biting my sleeve before settling down on the couch is definitely very adorable and not annoying at all.

Little baby Lethe is snuggling on my arm this #caturday. (Note: her little forehead is not actually bronze like that outside of the photo)

Man, Area 6 was so cool.

If you played Star Fox 64 (as I did to excess), this will be viscerally satisfying: https://youtu.be/Zd36az9Nzk4
