It would be exciting to stop begging for inclusion and just suck it up and move on.

"#Jewish #writers say they are dismayed to learn that one of the nation’s largest free outdoor #literary festivals is scheduled to take place during the two days of #RoshHashanah, September 12 and 13.

#PrintersRowLitFest, an outdoor #bookfestival that draws thousands of #authors and $book lovers to the streets of #Chicago’s South Loop, announced the festival’s dates in April. But only recently, amid rising concerns about #antisemitism in the #publishing world, did some Jewish authors realize the schedule conflict. This year’s Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on Friday, Sept. 11 and ends at sundown on Sunday, Sept. 13.

#BrianBerg, a spokesman for #PrintersRow, said that scheduling difficulties caused the overlap with Rosh Hashanah."

I'M BACK! I wasn't gone because I wanted to. Babka wasn't loading for me at all for the past month and a bit, but it seems I'm able to use it now! Woo!

Anyone else had really bad problems connected to Babka the past couple weeks? This is the first time I've been able to see anything or post in almost a month...

Anyone else having a lot of trouble with errors on this site?

Note to authors: if you want to so much as mention Israelis in a book without riling up a social media mob and getting your pre-orders cancelled, make sure to dehumanize them sufficiently - ie, don’t forget the horns and blood dripping from the mouth! Also, keep pretending this rabid fervor isn’t purely transparent antisemitism. #Israel #Antisemitism

TRAP is one of the worst movies of 2024. Do not watch it. Or do coz it's completely insane.

In no uncertain terms: fuck the Hellenic choir members for this. President Tsolakis seems like a good guy, at least.

I've given up on acting, and I'm good with that decision, but I'd LOVE to be in a show like FARGO.

My friend Mahmoud still needs your help. He's started a small stationary business while he studies at university, but he can't afford to restock and spends all his money on basic necessities. Any amount helps. #Gaza #fundraiser #Palestine

Mahmoud still needs your help. As little as $5 helps him build his business and allows him more than just scraping by. He's a good dude just trying to succeed in a shitty situation. Help him out if you can

Now that I'm a parent, babies - esp. newborns - crying in distress in movies and TV affects me WAY more.

“There are many Jews—more than we ever acknowledge—whose sederim do not look like the glossy #Pesach supplements. There are couples still waiting. Empty nesters adjusting to a new quiet. Single adults. Widowed adults. Divorced adults. Adults whose children are elsewhere, or not speaking, or not coming home this year.”

What, she asks, of THOSE Passovers?

Been offline here for a while. Took a bunch of apps off my phone to sort of...cleanse, I guess. Don't know if I'm fully back, but I'll be around.

On the first night of Hannukah. At a Hannukah by the Sea event. Fuck.
