It is WILD that you have to provide more evidence of age to use social media than adult sites.

Ok. At the International Working Women’s Day rally and they are playing No Doubt - Just A Girl.

Can we agree that Gwen Stefani is not a great example of feminist politics???

Better idea, ban paid advertising - protect everyone from that garbage, no ID required. The worst platforms will take them selves out with the garbage.

reading about the aus social media ban for under 16s is making me larf.

These dinosaurs really don’t understand the internet.

Do you consider your self to be “middle class”?

If so, tell me what middle class means to you.

You can’t go chanting “Always was always will be Aboriginal Land” and then “No borders, no nations” one after the other with a straight face.

It’s contradictory.

Does anyone know of a free non facebook/meta equivalent to Facebook groups like 'Queer Housing' or 'Trans Housing' where LGBTQIA+ folks can seek safe and appropriate housing?

In my experience those have been the places to find share housing or house mates for Queer people/households. But as Meta goes mask off, I want to know what the alternatives are (if any)

anyone know of a Cola that’s not owned by a company supporting the genocide if the Palestinian people that’s available in Melbourne?

there is around a 4-6 year gap where the government believes you are mature enough for criminal responsibility but not mature enough for tiktok.

Especially if the kids happen to be First Nations, that seems to make them extra “criminally responsible”

Racist old men ban now!

What does a social media ban for kids even mean? like kids haven’t been lying about their age for decades…

All this means is less protections for the kids because they’ll be on adult accounts.

Doesn’t distract from the gov support of genocide.

If you’re in Naarm, on the 19th of July @RAHU and the Black Peoples Union will be protesting unfair evictions, and in particular a queer, neurodiverse, Aboriginal man at 145-147 Geelong Rd, Footscray, 3011

When property lies between people, the people calmly expend their powers on worrying about that property, but when there is absolutely nothing between people, then they begin not to part and to preserve one another from the cold as they sleep.

Andrei Platonov - from Chevengur

Break for the ore, die for the store,
You only matter if you buy some more
You’re too small, you’re too poor
Swipe again, 15 seconds of gore

We’re exhausted, can’t go back to before
Beat of the bombs, drums of war
Opening eyes to what can’t be ignored
Hit with the hammer, Gods bleed ichor

asking for help when you need it is radical action in a world where extreme individualism has been pressed on us since childhood.

Share around for those in Melbourne, tonight (29th Jan 24) come down to the Tent Embassy at Camp Sovereignty for dinner and learn something about the history of the land.

For anyone following along, Camp Sovereignty and its Tent Embassy are still holding strong. Go down and pay them a visit, donate some food, some time, some money. Just be respectful, this is Aboriginal land.

The camp lasted through the night and is still going! Last night at the camp they streamed the international court of justice decision regarding the Palestinian genocide.

If you’re in Melbourne head down to “The Kings Domain” give people your love and support, drop off food, show that you support Aboriginal people taking up space on their own land.

Seems like too many people showed up and the cops are sitting at a distance. Great to see this real solidarity being demonstrated ✊ things are calm for now

Cops and Melbourne City Council are threatening to tear down the tents for the Naarm Aboriginal Tent Embassy (On invasion day), because of course they are. Waiting for further info…

Nothing but admiration and love for the Black Peoples Union and its stanch as hell General and Associate Members.

Today though collective action the BPU and allied groups started a new Aboriginal Tent Embassy, a new Camp Sovereignty - may it stand until the day of Liberation is celebrated and the illegitimate government is something only in history books.

If you support real decolonisation and not just nice words then support the BPU, read their words, learn, donate if you have the means.
