@circl found traffic on my network's guest WiFi. Gigabytes worth of Kerbros traffic going to many addresses worldwide. What kind of malware could that be?

How can any european government still trust #Microsoft with anything?
Just with a simple request from the House, Microsoft shared internal documents doxing dutch regulators.

@ricci Apparently, that's just folklore. UNIX dd is inspired by IBM Job Control Language's DD "data definition" command, which is where it gets its arcane flag syntax. Confirmed by Dennis Ritchie:

every year, I get an invitation to a Cornell “Distinguished Chair Holders Luncheon,” which I have never attended, but this is what I imagine it looks like

Apparently tweets on X are now called farts. #39c3
Good to know.

This has a `sh.c` from Jun 10, 1974 - is this the oldest known version of sh in C?

There will be more video later (there's a TV news crew there) but here's a bit that Jon Duerig has sent from on-site

I cannot sleep because the level2 hackerspace will be dead by end of the year.
Please help.
Do something
Thanks

When do you know if a downtime is really bad. Well when downdetector is down. #cloudflare

Okay, you're skeptical of AI, but hear me out, what if we produce an entire generation of students who are *all* the ones who did nothing in the group project?

Don't look up #climatecrisis #climatechange

@ricci If your NIC winds up with a sufficiently long interface name, like enp8s0f0npf0vf1, and your vlan id is high enough, you'll be unable to bring up a vlan interface like enp8s0f0npf0vf1.1024 because that exceeds the maximum interface name length (IFNAMSIZ = 16)

A little #linux install story.
So I got an old Intel board dg33tl and wanted a quick linux install on it. It took me only one day (!!!) to try various distros which all resulted in "no bootable device found"
- linux lite
- debian
- mint
- lubuntu
- ubuntu server
All failed
Finally kali linux created a bootable drive.
Why?
What is so difficult to make it work and why is suddenly some random distri working when all others fail?
What does kali do different? The installer looks like any other debian

Really @fedora?
And I can't find a solution. Is there something like apt update for fedora? Or why can't I get wine? #linux #fedora

currently attempting to use an ethernet interface called "enp8s0f0npf0vf1" and cannot help but think

Bought a new phone. Transferring stuff with the Samsung utility worked quite OK. The only apps which are completely copied over including all history and even the notification sounds:
- signal
- mastodon
All other apps had issues. All these are ad laden user data gathering behemoths.
What is it what makes multinational corporations not respect basic rules of the OS?
Signal and mastodon show that it is not impossible to offer a seamless experience

"ANU?"

"Yeah, sounds good! Let's buy the domain for our website!"
