So when did we all agree that sending a one-time password in email is more secure than using a secure password?

I leave the stuff on the floor for a minute, grab the cheese mix pack and shake it around to get all the cheese away from the top. In the process of doing that, it rips and the packet goes flying into the sink spilling a bunch of cheese dust. Luckily wasn't even half of it.

So I mix the cheese and clean everything up and now I'm eating my easy mac with a slight burn on my neck..

I literally just had an I Love Lucy level of Murphy's Law happen to me...

I was making a cup of easy mac and did some dishes as it was in the microwave. As it finished I went to pick it up and bring it to the counter.

Somehow i managed to spill it on my hand and the floor which caused me to jerk and get some of the gooey liquid on my neck. I ignored the pain long enough to put the cup on the counter and then wash off my hand and neck.

For anyone that's curious, here's the diffstat of the main #Pidgin 3 branch if we delete the in-tree XMPP stuff. The majority of what we have (which isn't much) is in an external library.

19 files changed, 0 insertions(+), 1019 deletions(-)

So finally read the at least the Pidgin part of https://op-co.de/blog/posts/emoji_xmpp_address/ and honestly considering just dropping #XMPP entirely from Pidgin 3 and even our server.

To put it nicely, the greater XMPP community hasn't exactly been kind to us over the years and really I'm starting to wondering why we continue to give them ammo.

Since the XMPP support in Pidgin 3 is currently just a skeleton, scrapping it isn't all that crazy.

So what do you all think?

Greetings Programs! It's release night for @pidgin 3.0 Alpha3!!

Does that mean you can use it yet, probably not as it's just a snapshot release, but come hangout anyways!!

It's officially official, #DigitalOcean supports the #Fascists and has given up on #OpenSource at large.

The joke is on reddit... AI bots don't use APIs and will scrape regardless...

Greetings Programs! We're less than 48 hours away from @pidgin 3.0 Alpha 3! We've got a little bit more to get done before the release, so lets get to it!

Weirdest thing is happening right now.. Any control characters, arrows, home, end, etc are not working in the mastodon input box.. They work in the same browser yet, so seems to be a mastodon problem :-/

So I missed the boat years ago when Quassel IRC got popular, but I recently learned about it and am quite interested in it conceptually because having a "detachable user interface" has been a feature request for @pidgin for a very long time.

While we're not looking at that quite yet, I'm curious if people still use Quassel and would be interested if #Pidgin 3 could be a front-end for it?

RE: https://ciberlandia.pt/@hackersbot/117321801951623029

This could be funny to show when banning someone on stream... But then again, it might encourage people to get banned and then send unban requests which is way more crap than I want to deal with...

Greetings Programs!! We're back tonight working on @pidgin 3.0 Alpha 3 which is due out in less than 9 days!! Come on by and we try to shore a bunch of stuff up!
