@bigzaphod A major shortcoming of the Activity timeline is the refresh frequency. When I was talking with you and a few users last night, I had to keep refreshing all feeds manually as I saw notifications arrive from Mona, just so I could reply to new mentions and see new likes. I’m not sure there’s a way to solve it until you implement notifications for Tapestry (which I think you said is planned).
I use #TapestryApp so much that I recently had a dream in my sleep, in which I went into the appearance settings and there were new theming options. Pretty nice dream, not gonna lie… 🫠
@bigzaphod Opening video attachments in the timeline now crashes the macOS version.
@Iconfactory Is there a way to reply to someone’s Mastodon post or comment, but also attach a native quote to that reply without leaving Tapestry?
@Iconfactory I’m confused. You added the ability to pause video or animation attachment when writing alt text — which is good — but you also added autoplay and looping to the thumbnail in composer view and I can’t find a way to pause that.
@Iconfactory @bigzaphod Over the past I’m not sure how many days I’ve been getting a lot of “No response after 60 seconds” errors.
@Iconfactory It’d be very nice if the compose screen supported drag-and-drop to add attachments.
@bigzaphod Do we have a chance of another Friday build today? No pressure of course. I’m just excited and curious about the various “buttons”. 👀
@Iconfactory It’s nice there’s a button to delete a post from the context menu, but I think there should be a second button to edit your own post without deleting it.
@Iconfactory I'm getting “Something Went Wrong” errors when opening Mastodon threads on Mac. Is it expected until the new build of Tapestry with replies is out? Apple is holding back the Mac build and not iOS again, correct?
Also, I can't believe replies are finally coming. It's a feature I've been very much waiting for. I know some people treat Tapestry as a rough overview of the internet or as an RSS reader (maybe plus YouTube), but I want to increasingly minimize jumping to other apps.
@Iconfactory Setting the system wallpaper does not work in Wallaroo on macOS Golden Gate. I'm currently on beta 2. I didn't check if it worked on beta 1.
@Iconfactory Sorry to bother you, but I want to make sure that you have seen this report, because you responded to one I sent later about other things, but not to this one.

@Iconfactory I hope that Tapestry's video player will support Apple's new automatic subtitles if possible.
Also, can you please allow me to make text larger in the Detail View without also increasing the size in the Timeline (or at least can you make it the same size)? There's a difference between these two for some reason. I can read the timeline easily, but in Detail View the text is smaller. I think it's only the case on macOS.
Ahead of Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Apple announced accessibility features coming this year.
I’ll use the auto-generated system-wide video captions and perhaps improved Accessibility Reader (if it’s good enough). It had issues with displaying complex content (like containing tables or multiple text columns), and it’s supposed to be better at that now.
I don’t own Apple TV hardware, but if I did, I’d probably use Larger Text too (I’m surprised it wasn’t there).
@Iconfactory I'm having an issue with Tapestry on macOS. I don't know if it started with some update or if it's always been the case, but it's certainly been bothering me for a while.
When I have an article opened in Detail View in its own window and I do the two-finger pinch gesture on the trackpad to zoom in while my cursor is over an image, it opens the image in a separate window (which shouldn't happen). When I close the image window and zoom back out, the image opens again.
@neatnik Have you considered OIDC login to SourceTube via Neatnik ID? I currently run a Forgejo instance on my own server and I use Pocket ID (a self-hosted OIDC provider), which allows me to sign in with a passkey.
@mysk Did you notice that issue with any apps when doing research? The most commonly contacted domains by my iPhone that show up as blocked in AdGuard DNS but don't show up in App Privacy Report are: app-measurement.com, app-analytics-services.com, nom.telemetrydeck.com, api.mixpanel.com, i-adq.mediation.unity3d.com.
I suspect the Duolingo app is one of the culprits.
@mipstian I think Apple should do more work regarding privacy and networking on iOS. A few apps on my iPhone make calls to tracking domains that seem to sidestep both Filtr and App Privacy Report, which I only know about from DNS logs.
It’s a very small portion of the traffic, but it’s not zero.
I don’t know what this shenanigans is, but somebody should put a stop to it.
@Iconfactory It’d be nice to be able to create muffle and mute rules that check images for keywords using system APIs.
I published a connector for #TapestryApp for following a channel that you specify, from any @peertube instance. I previously only published the source code, so I don't think anyone used it but me. Now I also published the final file with the ".tapestry" extension, which is ready to be added to the app, without requiring their developer tool.
Maybe someone will find it useful. I thought "we already have connectors for Mastodon and YouTube, so why not PeerTube too?".
