If I may have but a moment of your time so that you may gaze upon my cat...

ASTERISK: take my recommendation with a big hunk of salt, I can't really be objective about this one. My cousin Tara helped get it made and I'm super proud of her. ♥️

The first couple of episodes do a good job of setting the stage in a place where warm hearts carry heavy burdens. Good music. Lighting perhaps a tad more adventurous than it needs to be..? I feel like someone got a set of Aputure/Amaran RGBWW COBs and went a bit hog-wild with the colour gamut.

Anyhow, we're enjoying it, and looking forward to seeing where it goes. Recommended, ASTERISK

Definitely a very different flavour of seaside horror than Widows Bay! Love the setting. The dialog coaches obviously worked overtime. Not fully sure yet whether we're leaning harder into the angle of supernatural/Lovecraftian, the benthic cephalopod/alien, or in the direction of "this world has imagined horrors in it, and real, and some we can't fathom; but the worst of them is a distant powerful uncaring man in Ottawa or Toronto"

And as the Bat bleeds gently in the distance, we say adios and turn once more to the inevitable poll.

Was THE BAT (1959) the WORST #Monsterdon movie of the year?

Went for a bit of a roll through the neighborhood today. Nice weather for it, but too warm for this season.

Stopped by the intersection today to take a couple of photos of that misaligned storm drain cover at Queen/Spadina for the 311 report.

You can see here how the grate louvers are aligned with the direction of wheel travel rather than at a 45° angle to them; you can also see the tab on the round grate and the slot in the square cover frame intended to prevent exactly this mis-installation.

Lord Percival wishes you all a happy Thanksgiving! He is spending his fall weekend in our late-season garden which features ivy turning red and potted geraniums that will be coming inside soon, before the first frost, to overwinter. #cats #catsofMastodon #catsofFediverse #lordpercival #tuxedocat #autumn #gardening

With the days shortening and cooling in the northern hemisphere the #wildlife is busy preparing for the coming lean months of scarce food

But these two #deer seem to have made some sort of evolutionary leap in cognitive planning skills

Or they are evolving into snails

I'm not sure

...but it all worked out in the end.

It got a bit damp on the way home...

Feels a bit like everyone we know went out to spend the day in a forest this year. We did too: Rouge National Urban Park, about 45 minutes out of town. Lovely deciduous forest, light underbrush under a tall canopy, nicely cleared trails. It started raining just as got back to the trailhead to return home. Lovely way to spend Katie's birthday together. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, or as we call it around these parts, Canadian Thanksgiving.

And that's a wreck! Nobody fucks off into the sea but Cornelia fucks off to her publisher with a freshly finished manuscript and a concluding narrative straight to camera. Roll credits!

Well that was a downright delight. Thank you for hosting, @Taweret ! Thank you, #monsterdon maniacs, for a lovely evening of mystery and murder. Good night!

VINCENT PRICE FOREVER also bats are cute

A confrontation! The Bat sneaks into the hidden room to crack the safe; the officer on duty activates the door, taking cover and pulling his gun; but he is overcome, missing at close to point blank range and taking a bullet from The Bat's own weapon in turn!

But just as our protagonist is cornered by The Bat and about to meet her end... a shot rings out! Her mysterious chauffeur, returning at the last minute, ends The Bat's anonymity, murder spree, and life!!

"Didn't you say the chain was off the lock?"

"I did."

"Maybe Miss Van Garter is outside?"

"Oh, she never would!"

because all the bats are outside, you see, now that the one indoor bat has been removed from the premises

Price enters into his office, automatic at the ready, to brace The Bat setting the stage for a fake suicide, revealing to the audience that both are villains but not stained with the villainy that we expect!

Price monologues his plan to kill The Bat and make truth of the false confession sign; but The Bat reaches up to wreck the light! They tussle in darkness, and to his horror Price is ventilated with his own heater. The Bat flees again into the inky night!
