“On one hand, content from candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his supporters faces delivery restrictions, without any justification or transparency. On the other hand, profiles acting as political operatives for the opposing side ... receive a disproportionate and artificial reach, garnering more views even than global celebrities.”

Lotta smug European comments on that ICE-agent-gets-shot-by-homeowner news story, including someone who (apparently with a straight face) says that if there were an ICE equivalent in Europe "a lot more of them would be getting hunted down and shot" and just a quick question, how's the fucking forcing-migrant-boats-away-from-safe-harbor-so-they-drown thing going? Or the charging-migrants-who-survive-as-criminal-invaders thing?

Or even the beating-and-maiming-student-protesters thing?

We came from you. We are the same whether you want that to be true or not. We have a bigger gun culture here because your governments and rulers sent many of our predecessors over specifically to subdue and genocide an entire continent's worth of people in the name of your commerce and colonies so fuck right off with the "we're so civilized in Europe, the Civilization Center of the universe" crap. America is an extension of European history. It never ended. We are you. Just because you've managed over time to (somewhat) outsource that bleeding-edge violence to your nation-states' colonial projects, like the US, like South Africa, like Australia, (and more recently, to the multinational corporations who still murder for your resources) doesn't mean you ever stopped being violently racist.

So go fight this fight in your own backyard, where it started. Destroying the centuries-long legacy of European genocidal colonization is a task that belongs to all of us, not just the predictably hideous outgrowth of that conquest, the vile white supremacist project that is the United States. This hellish legacy belongs to all of us and it's up to all of us to end it.

@gerrymcgovern

John Trudell talked about this on a recording called Descendant Now Ancestor. The track named Mining.

This shouldn't be surprising to anyone who understands how the parlor tricks work, but it's hilarious that Facebook's bot that lets you trivially pwn its execution environment has all this stuff accessible for you to observe directly.

"AI" is a failed technology, in the sense that it's neither fit for purpose, nor a likely path to its stated end goal of "AGI", but a lot of people's profits currently depend on pretending it's not. I am curious to see how long the hype will last once the Nvidia ouroboros ends and money stops being pumped into marketing.

We believe this war will be over as soon as possible. But Putin plans to stick around much longer. He is building a Russia that looks like North Korea – where children are raised from an early age for war and to die for their leader. So Russia will not stop being dangerous.

And it is our – Ukrainian – strength, our army, our technologies that help guarantee also European security, your security. These security guarantees are not yet reflected – we think – in your budget from 2028 onward.

Let’s get serious about this. Let’s work out exactly how Ukraine’s defense capabilities should be included in that budget.

From an address to the participants of the European Council meeting. (5/5)…

Male supremacy culture

"Misogyny is tyrannical. It punishes any woman who does not comply with the standards of the patriarchy. The system does not hate all women: it hates, punishes, and persecutes women who do not comply with the subject: the man, the patriarch. In the patriarchal setup, everything is defined and subjected to the maleness of society, while the rest are other."

The end goal of the Capitalist State Project is to turn your country into an Open Air Prison

@gerrymcgovern The so-called liberalism doesn't seem to extend beyond the borders (or even walled gardens). Not news, but bears repeating...

Big Tech white male supremacy culture.

"A teenage boy who stabbed a girl at a school searched the internet for a man considered to be an early adopter of incel and manosphere culture, a jury has heard. The 15-year-old girl was knifed in the back at Thorpe St Andrew School near Norwich on 11 March."

This is the world Musk, Thiel and Zuckerberg built. They revel in being evil.

Google used to cynicaly say: "Don't be evil."

"Just do it! Be evil": new Big Tech motto.

Canadian 'Liberal' Party Pushed Ecuador To ‘Urgently’ Speed Up Canadian Mining Permits

‘There is an urgent need to accelerate permits and agreements to demonstrate commitment to investors.’

The result?

“People are being criminalized because there exists no basic guarantee of the right to protest,” activist Juan Carlos Carvajal Silva told Ricochet’s Brandi Morin last year.

There are no 'good guys' in the Global North.

“Canadian companies exemplify how responsible mining can transform regional development while generating national economic benefits.”

This is as sick as it gets but totally absolutely normal for Global North imperialists, colonizers, genociders and ecociders, in their relentless pursuit of cheap raw materials in the Global South.

Canadians do have a sick sense of humor, I suppose

"America's Brooks Range is one of the last truly wild landscapes on Earth. This vast, roadless region is home to Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve, the endangered Kobuk Wild and Scenic River, and the migration routes of the Western Arctic Caribou Herd, which sustains Indigenous communities that have depended on these lands for generations. Now, that remarkable landscape faces a new threat; the proposed Arctic Mine Project is the first major mining project."

Pues esto de que ¡el Partido Demócrata! ¡de los capitalistas EE. UU! presente como candidata a un Estado federal a una economista defensora del #Degrowth deja como el culo a los partidos de izquierda españoles!!! 🤦🏻
