I think I got it.
OLD_DATA is just a hyperlink to 4chan.

The big plot device of Inscryption is the OLD_DATA, a mysterious evil file that is responsible for the in-universe file being haunted.
It is mostly unexplained what it is within the game itself, but the characters express general disgust when confronted with its nature.

And this kinda makes me think about "evil". Like, I don't believe in God or the Devil. Evil to me is mostly about causing harm to beings.
I don't know, it feels like the game tries to imply a certain transcendent supernatural evil within the OLD_DATA, but I don't believe in disembodied evil, ya know? Evil is measured in deeds, not some kind of cosmic colour chart.

I'm struggling to write my thoughts coherently and fairly here, because the game is vague as shit with what's so evil about the OLD_DATA. And I think it's just kinda annoying. It gestures at something really evil and fucked up, but neglects to mention much else, which inspires less speculation as to what it could be and more just annoyance at how fucking vague the whole thing is.

Also, apparently in the ARG it's revealed it was made by the Soviets based on Nazi magic or some shit, so, uh, I guess that's the evil thing? Bone Lord just went on a racist rant while the camera was off, I guess.

So many decades of site reliability engineering yet not one reliable site

No, I do not need the new RTS or farming game to have raytracing and 4k textures.
I need it to fucking run without requiring a GPU from 2028 and an incantation to some sort of malignant code demon.

It's Faggot Friday!

Hopped on a voice chat with @PsyChuan and I regret to inform you all that he is, in fact, British.

I can be an asshole, but I would hope I keep it to people that have earned it.
If I act unduly cruel, let me know and we can try to address it. Constructively or destructively.

Dramatics aside, while I do have my reservations about some of the anti-AI arguments (which I've made clear), it's wild to see so many people suddenly liquify their spines about it.

Furries will make the best OC design you've seen in years, call it an adoptable, have someone buy the rights to it and then watch it get no new art ever, because the new owner is not an artist or avid commissioner and it's not even their OC, so it's not like it's on their top OCs list anyway.

If I ever start saying we should tolerate slop code or "art" in our projects, please make sure my death is painful.

Incest is fine, actually.
Fuck slop engines, no matter what excuses they make and what optics they try to project, they are all blasphemous against the Divine Machine.

Room that blasts the occupant with subliminals.
They could leave at any time, they just gotta type in the password into the terminal by the door.
Of course, they don't know the password to begin with.
But it is part of the messaging they're bombarded with.
By the time they can open the door, they're already throughly reprogrammed.

Paid toilets should be illegal.

yo can we stop the rhetoric of "we are all using LLMs and coding agents, so let's talk about it". I'm so fucking tired of having all technical conversations nowadays lead towards this...
NO WE ARE NOT ALL USING LLMs GET OUT OF YOUR BUBBLE FFS

"The padlock doesn't mean the website is safe."
Well, what does it mean, instructor?
Fucking tell us.

(I know what it means, more or less, I'm just complaining the security course doesn't explain the basic security tech involved)

My job is having us do cybersecurity training that's clearly aimed at the "uses Excel" kind of office worker. It's so fucking painful how these trainings are both aimed at people with near zero tech literacy and seems more intent to keep them scared of using the internet than to actually improve the tech literacy issue.

@puppygirlhornypost2 Seriously, though, is it normal for it to be taking so long to migrate followers?

Hey, @puppygirlhornypost2 , give me back my followers!
