To get the discussion starting on #wireguard VPN integration into the setup of managed Linux laptops for corporate users, @rriemann wrote a brief summary in the #Foreman community forum. Read along if you are curious and follow our account for updates!
This time, the US government put sanctions not on individual members, but to the international criminal court itself.
I would expect that's the end of contracts with and services from Microsoft. The prenotice period is 6 months.

Exciting to see that #EU_OS is driven forward by partners and the community. It takes an entire ecosystem to replace Microsoft Windows across the EU! #endof10 #DigitalSovereignty #bootc #foreman
This is blowing my mind: The Dutch government decided to start switching from Windows to NixOS because it doesn't have a company behind it, increasing their sovereignty. They've ruled out OpenSUSE and Fedora _because_ of their commercial ties (SUSE and IBM/Red Hat).
#EU_OS will have a talk at the #OpenSource #Conference #Luxembourg @oscl Wednesday next week 7th October about:
"From European Vision to Local Reality: Making EU OS Work for Public Administrations"
Entire agenda: https://conference.opensource.lu/agenda/
Patrick Jacobs from https://c-smart.be and @rriemann will be around. Talk to us if you are also in Luxembourg!
#EU_OS proposes #KDE for the future public sector digital workspace.
This weekend, @kde has its annual conference @akademy with many interesting talks.

The state library of Saxony @slubdresden in Germany 🇩🇪 has submitted their desktop Linux project 🐧 to a German opensource competition.

The setup uses @linuxmint and its #cinnamon interface. On top, much tooling was added for library users. 🎉

Our question to @EC_DIGIT: Will the EU help to migrate with a common approach to a free desktop operating system in the public sector? #EU_OS #endof10

Good news also for #EU_OS that proposes the use of #Flatpak for public sector Linux desktops!
2/2 Last year, @rriemann had the chance to discuss with public organisations in #TheHague about the dependency on #Windows11 and how #EU_OS could increase their #DigitalSovereignty. The #ICC was also a topic.
This summer, #EU_OS wants to reinforce activities on demos, improving documentation, and community building. Please follow our Mastodon account closely and reach out if you can offer helping hands!

Schleswig-Holstein in Germany announces their migration from #Windows to #Linux workstations! Chapeau !
(Unfortunately not yet #EU_OS, but every Linux computer counts! 😉)
RE: https://floss.social/@kde/116566751844672757
#EU_OS proposes to equip public sector computers with #KDE and distribute software also via #Flatpak. So this is grant and development priority is very much welcomed!
