I'm looking to hire a project manager!

I'm working on a project with materials scientists and physicists to build stacked quantum heterostructures, which have potential interesting properties as semiconductors, etc. It's a crazy process that involves crystal growers, driving microscopes with an Xbox controller, a adiabatic demagnetization refrigerators, and exfoliation with scotch tape. We need a project manager to help us ... well, manage the project.

Fine to ask me questions here or at ricci at cs dot utah.edu

(It might be the problem with “designers” who don’t know how real people use things or whatnot) whatever… I just found it odd and rather annoying that an app I use frequently has to “change their look” yet again… and now I have to figure it out… again 😹
Ahh well, it would be nice if this was the only problem in the world … but it isn’t 😅😞🫩😹

I don’t know about whatever opinions other people have about this, but my own personal opinion about the “updating of apps & websites” to be “more sleek & modern” is so superfluous to me. Granted, if you’re fixing a “bug”, or adding new content/functionality, or making things easier to use, sure… but it took me an entire year to figure out how to use it & where the hell things are I would like it to remain the same please 😹

Here’s a copy of the video by Heather Cox Richardson about the “distraction” from the 47th..
(Someone else posted it on here a couple days ago but I can’t quote it 😹) they did do a good job summarizing it though! Will at least mention them in an edit of this post.
Edit: William Lindsey @wdlindsy is the one who did the first post and lovely summary/edit 🩷 thank you!

So.. just because I know that this is something that the 47th has been hoping for people to forget about this Monday… I am reposting it so y’all can share it widely 🩷

I keep singing to fight back the dark…
“This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine”✨
I hope to get through this darkness everyone, and I hope you all can get through it too 🩷😿

Today was my first ever rally (I missed earlier ones this year😿) it was a great success! A beautiful day & lots of positivity love & kindness all around🩷
Lots of “I love this country”vibes &”we believe in the Constitution & the Declaration of Independence” speeches as well as pro-Palestine &“keep our neighbors safe” against ICE. Sang “Solidarity Forever” at the top of my lungs (w/ALL verses, which made me happy & cry at the same time!)
This is the sign that I made for the occasion

This is a new character I created for DND ❤️
She’s a poison skinned assassin tripkee 🐸
The first one I sketched in about five minutes and the second is the final rendering (in pen and ink 🖋️!)

So… it looks like it’s gonna “rain on his parade” …
Mother Nature is on the side of the resistance !😼😉

For reference I will include an image of the forecast, the eastern seaboard of the united states weather map as well as a screenshot of the radar imagery… (see alt text for more details) and yes, if you don’t know it already… I’m with her 😼😉💚🌎💚
(And yes, I’m a self taught weather nut 🤓)

To anyone interested, this is a comment form about the recent proposition about changing the definition of “harm” in the endangered species act… an acquaintance of mine shared this with me… I think it’s only 10 days left to comment, so please share with anyone you know or is interested 🩷🌎🩷

This seems important so I’m sharing…
It’s a video urging people who are voting on the dc bar to consider carefully before voting. Share widely, #USPolitics #handsoff ,

@MaryAustinBooks
Thank you so much for your in depth post!!! It makes me feel so much better 🥹

I don’t want to be very political in here… but for those who are interested… this is a post from blue sky that I found, and for those who might want to know what they can do with the recent funding cuts this post gives some insight and help
