Wore matching holes in my shorts from biking. Open to suggestions on what to embroider when I patch them. #BikeTooter #mending

Deeper into the abyss, I'm looking into bike bags for sousaphones. This is gonna be a wacky R&D project. #CarryShitOlympics #BikeTooter

Anyone in the #Atlanta area want a chandelier? #classifieds

Daily standup is pushing 45 minutes at this point. Someone kill me.

It was really hard to resist the urge to just keep going and forgetting work on the commute in this morning. Kind of a beautiful start to the day for the first time in a good while.

Things you should never do: try to run sustained distances in shoes designed for biking (only made far worse by being cleated for clipless pedals, which I don't have).

Who buys a methane water heater this day and age when you live **in a big city**?!?!?! How does heating a metal container with burning dinosaur farts make more sense than heating water directly with electrons?!

This toot brought to you by someone about to take a cold shower.

Alright #AskFedi #gardening edition: is there good GIS-esque software for tracking your plants and where they are? I'm not quite qualified to do real drafting as fun as it sounds so something digital would survive better. Open source far preferable, as is something feature complete and not "on the cloud".

Something I really don't get about the LLM craze is why are folks paying to use them for e.g. their hobbies? It's like paying a tailor to do your sewing hobby for you. What's the point?

Like, fine. If you pay for one for some helping hands or whatever I can sort of understand. But I know folks who are paying themselves for 3-5 different LLM services and it's absolutely mindboggling how much money they're spending.

Y'all. I need a fucking margarita.

Just started Predator: Badlands, and it's interesting how so many spacefaring civilizations are Medieval or Viking coded, or worse non-state military tribes. There's zero chance any of those styles of government have the organization to generate the technology used, especially the latter options.

Shout out to Ezz at The Spindle [1] for also having spare parts on hand. Got some lightly used Gravel King tires for a steal after we talked a bit about the various Ultra Dynamico tire options (they didn't have what I needed/wanted) and he saw the sorry state of my rear tire. Picked up a new hip bag, too :)

Pros
- bragging rights
- the lining only I'll ever see will continue to look swag as hell

Cons
- my poor fingers
- it's got iron-on patch glue on the back
- my poor fingers
- I'm doing it right against a seam like an idiot
- my poor fingers
- oh my god the crown
- my poor fingers

Y'all, I'm regretting hand sewing this patch to avoid sewing through the lining. What was I thinking? #coffeeneuring2025 #sewing

Are there any good fabric stores for #sewing around #Atlanta now that Joanns is dead? Willing to do online as well, but always good to shop local and in person when possible for things like this. Most importantly, I need places that are accessible to the US despite the dipshit at the helm of our federal government.

@ascentale Does anyone have experience with oval chainrings? Thinking of possibly switching another (3rd party) step down in tooth count as the kids get heavier with our hills and oval chainrings are supposed to help with climbing, and I need all the climbing I can get without buying a new groupset (or bike).

I'm excited to start my vacation tomorrow by dropping the kids off at school/daycare and going to work.

@tek I think home feeds are borked? Before I replied to someone I was getting a bunch of 500s and don't see any posts but my own since the update.

If anyone wants to help improve @openstreetmap address data in #Atlanta , I have a proposed import starting with DeKalb's address point dataset [1] and I'd love some help. Definitely going to need to do some scripting on street names to match what's in OSM for street names.

Hooo boy, rear rack kid seats, trailers, and steep driveways do NOT get along. Kid nearly flipped us just sitting there because the center of gravity was so high above the rear wheel. Ended up doing a Mission Impossible extraction to get us up the drive. Take note #BikeDad s out there.
