Some of y'all didn't have to play a shittily translated JRPG on PS1 four times through to figure out what the actual fuck was going on growing up and it shows in your lack of media literacy.

Also a very cute purple streaked hair guy with a very soft voice was at the deli counter in the grocery today and I was having trouble hearing him. I thought he asked my name, but he had actually asked if I needed anything else. 🤣

"So what was your name?"

"David."

"Nice."

I AM SO BAD AT FLIRTING IN THE REAL WORLD OMG

"Actually, what you call Linux is in fact SystemD+GNU Remnants SystemD Wasn't Interested In+Linux."

I crack myself up sometimes.

That said my Google smart watch is thrilled at all the *checks app* "dancing" we've done over the last few days.

Oooof. The feral hole phase has hit immediately, hard, and fast this time in a cage. *screams over his back* I HAVE A JOB AND A SOCIAL CALENDAR STAHHHHHHHHHHP.

PW;CR people should Google a little and learn about https://archive.ph instead of indirectly scolding folks for sharing links to paid for journalism but what do I know?

The amount of digging I had to do to find out the "AI" tool the FAA is announcing with such fan fair is just a fucking everyday Math Thing and not an LLM was fucking ridiculous! Fuck the news media for the moment.

Getting my truck detailed and thought, "Oh it's just one bus for the 4 miles to Dripolater it can't be THAT bad."

This bus stop is nothing but A Sign and sees a bus every 40 minutes I hate the USA. 🙄

Apple prancing around promising to solve world hunger with this shit has made my life miserable because we just jumped right over TOTP and proper MFA factor management to "just use passkey" coming down from management. Blaaaaaah.

Not to mention it feels like I've spent 3 years almost weekly explaining what this does and does NOT fix, basic asym crypto concepts over and over and over.

Asking normie users to manage their passkeys in any granularity is wildly stupid and UX folk just can't grasp that the best "management" UX is "wipe out all my passkeys and start over plz" and refuse to grasp that a user base that is incentivized to share credentials will have 15 "iPhone" passkeys they can't tell apart. 🙄

Passkey remains this weird ass way to do OIDC flows with "biometrics" where the mobile app developers don't want to implement said "biometrics" themselves, the UX people are mad they can't own all those little OS/Browser pop ups, and authentication providers keep inventing the dumbest onboarding flows that make individual users keep smashing the "Login with password" button and leaving 1 star reviews.

Ah yes. Another month, another HR incident where someone shared a chat with an LLM to another employee where they called the LLM a slur (and no I don't mean clanker).

I am kinda intrigued by WoW Forever which I didn't even know was a thing till yesterday. Lol. Going back to Classic and redoing everything to make the progression horizontal a la FFXI or OSRS is really catching my eye tbh.

Finally linked up with my people. The hugs made me cry a bit. Feels like I've been alone for way longer than the few days I've been on this trip so far.

Omg I have chugged two hydroflasks of water in the past 15 minutes

A mild case of altitude sickness, time zone lag, and Holy Shit Am I Actually Going To Do This? as I am now 48 hoursish from disappearing into the desert for a week has me trying to decide if I'm hungry? @.@

The amount of )'( Some Name )'( 1 mile away on Scruff is kinda hilarious and yes everyone along I-80 at this point is like "oh God it's THAT week isn't it?"

I really wanna see what pushing the Ektacolor 800 to 1600 does but the lab here can't push color developing so that experiment will have to wait till I get back from Burning Man, take some classes, and get my dark room membership rolling.

But honestly moody, grainy night time shots is what I wanna be known for frfr.
