It's gotta stop.
But it won't because that's what Claude craps out and everyone's asking Claude to crap them a website.

Wow! I genuinely believe that constantly trying to trick others eventually makes your life miserable. And it’s contagious: I’ve seen people change simply by studying an MBA.
It is so weird to me that people I played shows alongside of at 20 are still touring today. I think I would die if I did anything for that long.
I remember joking with my fellow data engineers at work recently that if you have a 100-column database table, you should consider renormalizing your database, but if you have a 10,000-column table, you have far bigger problems than a badly-normalized database.
This has very similar vibes: if your organization is doing 30k code commits per day, not only has something gone very wrong, nobody there truly understands what they’re doing and why they’re doing it.

Tim Bray is an absolute gem.
"We're tens of billions of dollars in the hole anyways."
"90% of our workforce is less than 5 years out of college so they don't know why this is a bad idea and we support that."
"Our engineers have no mental model of the codebase so they are constantly re-writing the same functions at the same time in parallel in arbitrary ways, and a source control system should make that easy."

"Git sucks because we're incapable of making small, coherent, evolutionary changes to our codebase."
@mhoye The thing that is blowing my mind is that a bunch of human engineers looked at this blog post and thought "heck yeah! awesome! can't wait to announce this!"
I don't know how to bridge that values gap. or indeed how to start explaining it? it feels so hard to even begin this conversation.
If someone dies at the age of 69, is it inappropriate to say "nice"?
Today, on my day off, I cut a hole in my floor.
“This highly subsidized private technology has changed the game forever and it’s important that we don’t talk about what happens when the subsidies end.”
