Oh no I tried to make a smooth unpredictable voltage for my modular sequencer and now I am trying to understand the Duffing equation for springs with non-linear stiffness in damped and driven oscillator systems

I blooped! Warning: LOUD, I think, so turn down your speakers / headphones.

This is me playing with a generative sequencer I'm putting together in DROID for eurorack (and a lil drum machine).

#bloop26

I want to do things, but I'm too tired, and I'm cross about it

33°C outside; 27°C in the coolest rooms in the house.

Cellar? 19°C.

A cellar in a heatwave

I am doing a course with a module on the history of synthesizers and as you can imagine I am getting extremely distracted by the listening guide.

Another bloop for bloop26; more drone + noodling over the top. Excuse the wrong notes, my keyboard is weird in a way I don't yet understand.

Anyone know if I have a spare MIDI controller?

I made some bloops. It ends a bit abruptly coz I screwed up the real ending and chopped it off 😂

Long live bloop26.

If you like melancholy bloops I recommend it: https://youtu.be/tMta7JY6Pxs?si=f3uyBHpE9dtnmpqT

We are watching the Advance Base Christmas Special 2025! (Just in time...) 🎶

TIL the word "chortle" originates in the Jabberwocky!!!

Hmm what shall I do for my first electronics project? Needs to be achievable for a relative novice (I have some experience but rusty) and something I'll actually use (otherwise I'll never get round to building it). Ideally audio-related but I guess it doesn't need to be!

despite all my tears I am still just a rat with big ears

despite all my joy I am still just a kid with a toy

This Wednesday's stream is music production!

I'll be working on an epic indie-rock* song by my friend Harry, and it would be great to see you if you want to come and hang out :)

*I know nothing about genre, don't trust my assessment

Streaming from 7pm UK time (Wednesday), possibly earlier if I get organised.

I want to get a kit for:
* hobbyist electronics
* device repair

I'll only use it rarely so don't want to spend tons, but I do want quality stuff that isn't going to fail within just a few uses.

So far based on research I'm thinking:
* Pinecil soldering iron
* An iFixit kit with precision screwdriver, plenty of bits, and a handful of other small things.
* Multimeter - also iFixit maybe?

Does that sound good? Is there any other tool I should also get?

Does anyone who follows me enjoy Look Mum No Computer? I just went to his museum of weird music electronics and it was fun. (I could have done with more instructions on the sound machines tho 😂)

Oh gosh what a surprise, the two most odious and egoistical men in the world turn out not to like each other after all, how totally shocking

Anyone used ReMarkable? I want it to be just like a paper notebook but:
- with a bit of info management thanks to being digital (e.g. tagging, folders, search)
- only needing one, rather than a million on the go and a hundred million full ones on the shelf

Is that your experience? Or does the digital aspect have some downsides too?
