Canada's government is completely captured by corporate interests. Everything the government does is for the benefit of corporations, not people. It doesn't matter who is in power, because it's the corporations that have the true power.

If Canada wasn't busy trying to screw over people and pander to the anti immigrant peeps, we would be the biggest beneficiary of Trump's anti intellectual policies. So many great students trying to get here who can't get visas because Carney.
My local city Council candidate has an ad that immediately tells me she knows absolutely nothing about getting the city moving.
The words "coordinated traffic planning" lost my vote right away.
It's already as coordinated as it's going to get. Get people out of cars you car brained turd.
I really hate that the two leading choices for mayor of Toronto are:
1. I'm a proud climate change denier, woman hater, and trans women don't exist.
2. I believe in climate change but we still have to fuck it to protect union jobs.
Apparently, my daughter was given an assignment to use generative #AI to create a poster / cover for A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court in her English class. She took offense to this and asked if she could just do the assignment by hand or digitally using one of her #art apps. She was told no. So, my daughter decided to take a stand and not do the assignment. We support her decision completely. Asking someone who lives for creating her own art to use AI and refusing to accept anything else is inexcusable.

Most corrupt administration ever.
So many “errors” at Meta lately, huh?
FYI on #France. In the last 24 hours:
🕵️ A French newspaper revealed the government tried to force the intelligence services to blame a far-left party for the riots.
👮 They attempted to arrest a MP from that party.
🌙 They have imposed curfews in cities across the country.
🪖 They announced that the army will be deployed during the next protest.
France is rapidly sliding into authoritarianism.

Governments love poverty, to the point of hunger.
Not only do they cut funding for the hungry, they find people who try to solve the problem themselves:
> For 17 years, these volunteers served meals in Allan Gardens. On Thanksgiving, the city fined them more than $1,000.
Their crime? "Giving food to hungry people without government permission".

What chance of those responsible being held to account?
