Any I don't know what anything means more.

What a hateful, shitty little country the UK is in 2026.

I saw this and I thought of @MLE_online

What I don't know anything means any more.

In 1984, these were a slightly controversial vehicle. They got described as "jelly moulds".

Anyway, look at this lad I walked past a bit earlier, immaculate.

I know @MLE_online is fond of a funky 80's bit of motor vehickle.

The workings of the "Royal" Mail become an ever darker mystery to me.

(I'm having A Day with delivery services it appears)

Council waste services here deliver a bunch of plastic rubbish sacks once a year to properties that can't use wheelies.

This year's have just arrived, and are a miracle of modern polymer science, as they appear to be approximately one molecule thick.

Maybe they're part of a job-creation scheme for street cleaners?

wtf happens to the alt-text on videos I carefully typed out ffs?

anyway: Alt-text for anyone who needs or wants it:

I found this on bsky and the fucking accuracy of it is astounding.

I'm fucking sick of hearing about everything

I can't help thinking that however many cans of chickpeas I stockpile, it won't really help when the entire food supply chain starts collapsing.

"Hello! How are you getting on?"

[me] Oh, I'm completely fine

[also me]:

Annoyance: been to (private) dentist. Used to have 2yr checkup and 6 monthly hygieneist. Suited me, teeth stable, can't afford any cosmetic work. Suddenly its 6mthly checkups. No need. Except of course it makes them 3x the money. Or forces you into a subscription.
Anither reason to hate Blair, who privatised a perfectly functional NHS dentistry system to no one's benefit except BUPA.

This isn't a complaint of profound existential angst, tho. Its really about decisions and luck and the consequences thereof. And to have made different decisions would have meant being a different person. Luck, of course, can't be controlled.

I wish the way i live and the way i would prefer to live were not separated by so deep a gulf.

The other day i was sitting on a bench enjoying the sun and the breeze and the small sounds of late summer, and a couple came along & sat on an adjacent bench with a JBL bt speaker playing kpop or some shit, and i was so incensed I got up and walked off, but as i did so he made eye contact and before I knew it I'd shaken my head and said "not cool, man", and then he looked abashed and turned it off.

Anyway. That was how Sunday went.
